Heya all ive decided to go with some basic fluro's, as im a poor bastard with no job , i wanna go as cheap as possible. so went down to my local harware store and saw a twin batton fluro holder (small for more stealth) and the lights that go in there are as follows Twin 18w 4000k 590mm ive only got 2 plants in pots/soil. so will this be enough light power to keep em vegging? and possible enough for budding? like i said in my other posts this batch is just a first test for my growing abilities, so i dont really care if the yeild isnt big. many thanks TSJ

Can someone please help me. All I have is a long cupboard, about 7' high and a foot square wide. I have two small exaust and in flow fans, a small humidifier, and it is white "reflective" pine board. My problem is the lighting, first I used a cheep "$40" red/blue LED slab...The first few plants were terrible long stemed and basically feeble. I read up and asked questions etc. and decided that Grow lush 400w with balast, would be the answer. My problem is now with all the advertising and surgestions/opinions online I'm now worried about the electricity consumption, does anyone know how much running something like this 24/7 to start with then 12 to 18 hours a day when "flo…

Sorry for starting another thread, everything is perfect with my pc case all I need now is a damn 12 v DC charger. I've looked through my entire house found about 5 old phone chargers, most are 5v Biggest one I have is a 9v but that won't run two 12v fans. Anyone know a mplace where I can buy used phone chargers in Melb? would be so helpful just want to get started

Hi all. Just thought I'd throw in an early review of the sunpulse lamps. There are a few mixed reviews out there, but I thought I'd update this as ozstoners seems to rank pretty high on google. I'm running a 400w Lumatek digi ballast with a 400w 3k sunpulse in my cab. I'll flip to the 10k in a couple of months before harvest. So far I'm happy with what this is doing. My haze has about 20 decent baby bud sites on her already early into flower even though she's bonsai'd for the cab. The DNA pure Afghan I'm running is a little behind, but she was started later and I've recently overnuted her. I'll update pics of her when she's looking prettier. The consensus seems to b…

Hi Guys Please help!!! It's getting close to summer and I'm getting a little paranoid about the 40 degree days and 30 degree nights. So...... I am considering buying a portable Air conditioner. I have a few question before i grab one and was hoping somebody already owned one and could give some advise. 1.can you set a portable AC to switch on, when a grow room reaches a certain temperature ??? if so can you recommend a brand type. 2 if not, is there any sort of thermostat (like a programmable timer) i can plug between the AC and the wall socket to control it???? again if so can you please recommend one to me.

Hey guys, I keep basing my lighting and ventilation requirements on the cannaversity lighting calculator yet everyone else seems to recommend well in excess. Is this calculator underestimating values and does it need updating? Thanks

Heya all ill confess straight up im a nub when it comes to growing stuff so recently planted some bag seeds and they are going well but i cant have em outside anymore so i want to grow them in my shed out the back. there are only 3 small saplings - thinking of getting rid of one casue its really small still, so really only looking a setup for 2 plants. ive had a look at the light chart but numbers confuse me how much light in general does a plant need? will a 150w halogen work light give enough? ill go water them every day and all that. so its no big project and i dont care if i dont get a yeild out of it, its more of a test

I have some PC case fans that I'd like to use for a cabinet grow. With some as intake and outake. Obviously I don't want to have them running off batteries that I'll have to replace all the time. Alternative is to use an old PC power supply and short the pins on the motherboard connector to turn the PSU on. The ideal way would be to have them running from the mains somehow that's safe and secure. Any ideas?
