Hey just thought id show ya my new setup for cool tubes. I have 6 x 150mm 600watt cool tubes. First pic if the lights on the left of the room connected to a 150mm x 2 - 200-250mm adapter which will be connected to the ground to bring cool air from under the house. Next if of just the lights hooked up And this is where the last 2 lights of each row connect into a 3way 150mm adapter pass up into the roof where there is a 150mm centrifugal fan pulling the cool air though. Just a rough sketch to show how it go's. untitled.bmp

Well I like many other new to indoor growing are interested in the possability of using led lighting for a grow. What are the problems associated with led lights and the different lights available? How much should one spend on led lights if thats the way you want to go? Do they work? I propose to test the led lights available on the net and will purchase a LED 400w or greater light to see what yeilds are acheivable with the led system. Stay tuned as over the next few weeks months I will set up the grow in a tent 1m x 1m x 1.8m and run the system with a clone of a plant I have grown B4 and know the expected yeild of (aprox 6 ounces under two 400 w hps lamps…

Hey Guys, My cupboard is still in construction but in semi working order. Can you guys give me some ideas on how to go about ventilating my cloning cupboard. I have 3m of 200mm Insulated Ducting Atm. though i prob. only need 1.5m. so i guess i could utilize that. but just some suggestions on how to go about it would be great. I have a 150mm Inline inside of the ducting. Atm it is sitting on the shelf in between the two cupboard. I also have a 120mm Spectrum PC style Fan. my grow space dimensions are below; 600dx800Lx700h 600dx1200Lx1700h Any ideas why they look so different?

Hi all:) Just wondering about ducting and sound proofing. I'm not real flash on my silencing technology, but was wondering if it would be quieter if a smooth surface was used rather than a corrugated one. If so, I was wondering if it would be better to use pvc pipes (without the blue glue) or thick cardboard rolls (like postage packs) rather than bendy metal ducting. I'm interested in ducting to go on a 100mm fan (for a small tent), so cost and weight aren't too much of a problem - especially as I'm sure I've got some joiners and pvc pipes around somewhere collecting spiders. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Well, I with this heat wave we got its helped me realise that my aircooled hoods aint real aircooled. So here goes... I have 2ft of 150mm ducting comin from the wall to hood1 then onto hood2 then another 2ft up into the roof to a 150mm Mixflo running on full (130lps) and 2ft more duct exhausting to my roof cavity. So the drama is it doesnt seem to be cooling the hoods fuck all, actually it doesnt seem to be pullin bugger all air. So I'm asking the great OS brainstrust what I should do to improve my air flow? Would puttin a inline (a spectrum or A60 for example) somewhere near the beginning of the run help? Or do i need to get a bigger fan? I have no idea wot to do g…

Hi there, First time poster/grower so please go easy on me. I'm looking to setup a small grow cupboard. Bascially it's a cabinet underneath my 3ft fish tank. I've been doing ALOT of reading.. heaps.. and initially i was thinking to set it up with CFL lighting. Now bear in mind the aim of the cupboard is for a complete grow from start to finish. But after doing research and calculations i'm now leaning more towards a hps setup, prolly around 250w. Now I reckon i'd only be able to fit 2 plants in the cupboard comfortably, so the 250w should be enough. If i was going CFL i'd need at least 100w per plant so i figure a 250w HPS would be a better bet. The only thing i'm …

Hello ladies and gentlemen! I have just ordered some seeds and this means i have to get my grow room (or grow box as i like to call it) underway! http://i56.tinypic.com/2502d7q.jpg I need information on lighting, i have read through lots of articles on the net but i have not come to a solid conclusion as to what lights, what wattage and how many and where to put them! this is the hole at the end of the cupboard that will be used for ventilation http://i56.tinypic.com/33n9k3n.jpg this is the cupboard itself http://i54.tinypic.com/wlq2xc.jpg so basically i have approximately $300 to spend on lighting and other supplies im going to assume that i should cover th…

Hey guys I just need to know is there a way of telling when your HPS bulb is in need of replacing to get the most out of your bulb. Does it slowly burnt out out and fade or what? Hope this makes sense Cheers Chops

Hey crew I have been away for a while, thought it was about time to get growing again so have been making some much needed investment in my little box, just painted it orange (essential haha! ), added a soft door for light proofing and a cool tube. What I have got is: 750mm x 600mm x 110mm grow box 250mm ball bearing exhaust fan in the roof of box 250 Watt HPS 150mm cool tube with a 125mm PC fan blowing up through ducting into the exhaust fan mesh screen for SCROG (not in photos) mech timer with the contactor setup (thanks Bufo!) So to the problem! I want the box to be more stealth as it currently looks like a time machine with the HID light making its way thro…

sup growers, Im considering spending $170 on a centrifugal fan (150mm canfan), and wanted to get some advice before hand. Should I get a can fan brand? (more expensive?) My grow tents temperature sits around 31 - 33 degrees at day, and down to 23 degrees at night. Is this too hot for my plants? The outside temperature is 5 to 10 degrees cooler. There are hotter days ahead. Some details of my growroom... I have 2x 150mm inline fans, one for intake one for output plus 1x household oscillating fan in the tent. All fans run 24/7. The intake comes from a window, thru a mesh screen, then 6m of duct, then the inline fan. The output goes thru an inline fan, then 6m of duct …

Hey guys I had an idea for venting a small cabinet. Let me know what you think... Basically I want to use 4 12V DC pc case fans with a pc fan speed controller. 2 would be used for intake/output and 2 would run a cool tube (one either side of the globe, with minimal ducting So basically I want to use this fan speed controller: http://www.scythe-usa.com/product/acc/028/km01_detail.html It controls 4 12V DC fans at 1.00 Amps max and has a digital screen with inputs for 4 temperature gauges. I figure ill power it with a dick smiths power supply (12V dc 5amps max). I'd probably use it with the quietest fans i can find, probably the Noctua NF-P12. Has anyone done th…

Hi Folks, I'm thinking about setting up my first grow room. I've been reading the forums for several hours now. I'm planning on a simple start, I have some Northern Light from seeds botique and I'm planning on a robe grow in my shed in a couple of weeks. I'm planning on doing 2/3 plants, in soil. My first and most important question atm is lighting. I've been looking at CFL for heat (in QLD) and cost etc. SUNBRITE 250w DIMPLED SHADE KIT+ 2700K & 6400K LAMPS - AU $170.00 from Discount Hydroponic Supplies but I've been reading some posting recommending seperate individual CFL bulbs (about 4) rather than a single tube CFL. Whats the best for the plants(i) and co…
