Hi all, Just looking for some advice on the use of fan's with a 'portable split' air con. The issue is, the exhaust fan ducts from a CF, through 2 cool tubes and then exhausts. Which is fine in most situations, until the A/C kicks in and most of the cooled air is lost through the exhaust, so the AC is almost always running to try an cool the ambient temp in the room. Any ideas? Should the exhaust fan be stopped (and a seperate circuit for the cool tubes installed) or just slowed right down using a speed controller?

I need a *really* quiet fan that can fit a 400w cooltube.. my tent is quiet small so the heat is a problem.. Ideas? Cheers, Jon

Hi Guys and Girls, 'Making the switch from cupboard to tent. 1.2m x 1.2m x 2.0m. 'Using a 400w MH or HPS (as their girls require) and am considering a cooltube reflector. 'Using separate Growlush ballasts. Is there any compatibility issues that one should know about? Given that the MH is not a retro globe it is quite a bit larger than the HPS globe. After having measured it, one realises that it is under the 155mm diameter of the cooltube. Just making sure as this is unfamiliar territory. Cleftin.

Hey guys I am looking for some advice I have just built a grow cupboard cause I am sick of paying $300+ for an ounce and I am torn as to which kind of lights would be best. The dimensions are approx 1800x1200x500 so its a decent size but its situated in a tin garage that gets up to 35 constantly so heat is a major issue (cant put it anywhere else though) I will be growing in coco and perlite to start with a view to getting a top fed DWC come winter time. Can anyone tell me how much heat a 400w HID would throw? I am considering Cfls as well as i have heard they are much cooler. Any advice would be greatly appreciated P.S the seeds I have got are critical mass by mr nic…

I was wondering if it would be better to have a lot of small watt cfl's instead of 1 or 2 high watt cfl.

Hi all, this is my first post here and I must say this is a great forum. I was wondering if anyone has used the 25000k light solely for flowering? I have been looking at the spectrum charts from grow-lush and the 25000k seems to have more light in the red spectrum than the 6400k, would this mean that there is more effective color for bud growth? I have a 125w 25000k CFL already and I will be getting another globe soon and I would like some help deciding on either a 2700k or 25000k. I also have a 125w 15000k CFL that I found really good for veg, I might still add a 6400k to the grow for comparison and extra light. Stay Stoned, Peace

3rd time in the last year Ive had ballasts burn out and melt the wiring at the point the shades plug in causing toxic smoke that kills your plants and might start a full scale fire depending what your ballasts are near , these ballasts are under 2 yrs old and 600 watts in a nice airy postion , Ive read where makers are pumping more juice out of them trying to compete with digital , whatever the reason its not good so watch your ballasts guys they can cause a lot of grief .
