Hello everyone, I am trying to find an area in the house for a semi stealth grow, just cleared the basement few days ago and was thinking of growing there. The height of the basement is 1m tall, which is the only problem as I was initially planning on getting a 600w hps. I have never grown before so for a 1m max height grow space what is the recommend watt of HPS for it, Oh and by the way is the difference between a centrifugal fan and a inline fan is that the centrifugal fan runs quiter? and stronger pull/push?

Has anyone heard of Green lights ? A friend of mine mentioned that they may be able to be used during the 'lights off' period without upsetting the plants cycle. I work odd shifts and am sometimes not able to get to my girls to do gardening during 'lights on'. Any help would be appreciated.

Alrighty, so my cupboard with 125w cfls for both veg and flower has failed and reverted my Barney's Pineapple Chunk back to veg. I know of someone having had this occur twice while using cfls, so those are getting chucked in a chest of drawers. But what kills your plants only make you knowledgable. Will a 250w cooltube kit suffice for a cupboard that you could fit two 6ft adults in facing each other. Sorry for bad description, i cant be bothered finding the tape measure haha. I'd rather not go a 400 if possible due to power bill.

Gudday growers, I have a cupboard measuring about 500w, 700d, 1200h I want to use this area for clones at one stage, and a drying area at another I cant fit a full length fluro in there I was going to get a fluoro mount with 4 x 2 foot tubes... but they seem pricey But would I be better off getting a single CFL globe 14000k, it seems to be cheaper and more available Will the 14000k be ok for vegging beyond starting clones? Incase they have to stay there a bit longer to wait for the flower tent to finish What would you use for lighting clones in this space? Cheers

I have my growspace setup under my house, measures up at 3m long x 1.5m wide x 1.8m height, so I'm using the floor of my house as the ceiling of the room. I have 2 400w HPS, 4 plants (so there is some room to move in there), 1 200mm fan blowing cool air in, another to be added tomorow to suck out the hot air.. will post pics when i can..... just thinking about how close can the lamps get to the floor of my house before it could set fire to the wooden floorboards which is the ceiling of the room? Should I panda film over the ceiling too? I dont want to set fire to the place trying to grow, insurance doesnt cover that sort of thing

Hi all, I just scored this on Ebay. Other than giving it a go when I pick it up in the next couple of days, I know bugger all about what brands are good, and what ones to laugh at and move along to the next item. The description is: PowerPlant 400w HPS with White Wing shade and ballast. Better still, I think it may be ok if i give a link to the auction, since it's ended and i won it. So go here. Any comments, warnings or other feedback more than welcome. Edit: I've had a squiz on the Google for instructions, with no help there; maybe Google is taking it easy being the w/end etc. Is there anything in the instructions that I'd need to know, as i'm a total newbie at …

I am really skeptical about leds, saw few independent grow tests 420 maz...and the more wattage expensive leds seems to be getting similar results. However most people on the forums are showing negative feelings about them. I am about to get my first light and really thinking about LEDS cuz it runs cool (paranoid) and dont mind spending a bit for it. What do u guys think about these independent tests on various forms?

Hey all My mate and I are building a growbox out of a small chest of drawers, things are going real smoothly but we are a little up in the air about what lighting to use. Size etc taken into account, 2 x 65w CFLs seems like the way to go. Now we could save a wee bit of coin by just getting a red and a blue light and leaving it at that, as opposed to our initial plan which was to get two of either spectrum for veg and flower respectively. I was just wondering if leaving one of each colour for the duration of the grow would have any detrimental effects on our MJ, or would the difference be so minor that someone growing in a chest of drawers wouldn't notice/give a shit? …

Hey guys was given this old ballast by a mate today...hasnt been used for a long time and i know she is definitely 20 years old however wondering if anyone has used this Light Brigade 400W HPS ballast or knows of a reason i shouldnt use this. I know it aint as efficient as the new digitals and uses about 1 more amp in comparison but if its a good one then I might grab a cooltube and globe and give it a go. Oh another dumb question sorry..... if i were to buy a new cooltube does the lamp holder and lead/plug to the ballast come with it?? I have only bought a full kit before so have no idea? Thanks lads for any info that you may have

So i have a three speed centrifugal fan capable of: Speed 1 56l/s being 118CFM Speed 2 85l/s being 180 CFM Speed 3 112l/s being 237 CFM as well as an inline 150mm (rated at 250cfm). my room has an area of 1.6m2 and a volume of 2.88m3 the plan is as follows: C/Filter -> Ducting -> centrifugal -> ducting -> Cooltube - >ducting -> inline (should be mentioned that the cooltube has a 1000W HPS inside) All this is to occur within a 2m length (possibly 3m if i place the filter on the ground) Reasoning for two fans in such a small setup is for temperature control during the summer as even with an air con the temps can reach 30+C Thoughts on the …

I live in a pretty old place and the door to my room is quite uneven. I have tried putting rubber seals around the door, but to actually stop light from getting out it makes it virtually impossible to shut the door... I can put up with that though.. the real problem is under the door. it's an uneven tiled surface and I havn't been able to find anything that will seal it completely... I've thought about haging a blanket on the insude of the door but it may make it a bit hard to open.... anyone got any suggestions This is more about stealth than about light leak having an effect on budding.. although that will be an issue in the near future
