So I've up-sized my grow, now I have two 25 X 12 X 9 ft rooms with four large fans two for intake and Exhaust, Any ideas on inconspicuous venting? I live in the country on a farm and don't have any neighbors but drive-byes are always and issue as my house is close to the road. I would like to run an air shaft to the roof through the second floor but how do I vent it out the attic without a big ass ducted out the roof? also pulling that much air in the basement will probably cause an Negative pressure problem. so an outdoor inlet will probably be necessary. anyways any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all Planning to get the centrifugal fan now, gonna go 400w grow space so it should be on the lower cfm side. Just want ppl's opinions of the two fans below. The grow lush (440cfm 155watts) has 2.14 times more cfm than the Can Fan(205.5cfm 65watts) however it is 2.5 times more wattage. The growlush is a bit cheaper. both 150mm. Would I need the extra cfm from the growlush or save the electricity with the can fan? have ppl had experience with the two fans below? Growlush fan Can fan Cheers GS

Hi Folks I would appreciate some comments on a grow cupboard I’m planning. The cupboard is 80x40x100cms. I plan on using a 400W HPS. I have a Ablite air cooled reflector which I want to install externally on the top of the cupboard. The reflector comes with a glass insert which I expect would keep the temperature inside the cupboard relatively low with this set up. I had planned on having holes in the floor of the cupboard for a passive air intake. and a passive outlet in the top of the cupboard. Inside the cupboard there would be a fan to circulate the air and shake the plants. Is a 400W lamp overkill in a cupboard this size – would a 250W be more practical and of…

Ok i have a question.Where the hell do i get those Lamp Socket Splitter Adapters? You know the ones that are shaped like a Y.I see all the yanks using them in there growboxes etc using cfl`s.That means on power cord instead (in my case)using a power cord per cfl and the cords look messy and get in the way.I cant find them anywhere apart from the US.http://cgi.ebay.com.au/G-5X-Studio-E27-Lamp-Socket-Splitter-Adapter-Y-Type-/400214934524?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5d2eab43fc They also have single adapters for cfl`s that you plug into a powerboard/strip(like the ones you use for the computer that all ur plugs go into). They can fit like 6 cfl`s on the one powerboard…

Hi all, Just curious as to whether I could use a 250mm centrifugal fan and 250mm filter and a muffler in a 1m x1m x2m high grow tent for a 400w hps light? would the ventilation combination be physically too big for the 1 x1 x2m tent? also could fan speed control be use to reduce the air flow and wattage usage? Cheers Gs

About a month or so I planted a WW on the balcony and she was looking lovely until the other day when I got a 600HPS lighting for her. The light was placed maybe 30-40 centimetres away from the plant. I left the lights on for about 18 hours and when I was back home I checked on it and half of it was drying up. The soil wasn't dry at all and it didn't seem hot either, plus I had a fan on. I don't know if the plant went into shock or something but I'm not happy and being this is my first grow I'm not really sure what to do now so I placed it outside to see if it can recover. Could it be that the light was way too close and is it possible to save this plant now or would it…

I have gone through at least 6 different timers in about 3 months. I've bought a "heavy duty" timer box from eBay (which never worked even once), and I've tried many of the smaller and cheaper timers available at local hardware shops. None of them last more than 2 weeks. I'm using 2x 130w CFLs. I've tried running them both off 1 timer, and I've tried running them each on a separate timer... no luck. Please post the brand and whatever other information you can about your timers. I need something I can rely on.

Gday guys hope I can get some advise and info on how I have mounted an inline fan in my drobe..... I have attached pics which show that I have mounted it to the side of the drobe so that it is sucking air directly up or down....... The reason i ask this is because i was testing it yesterday and only after about an hour i went and checked and it wasnt spinning like it was caught or had dropped out of place or something.....it was trying but couldnt.....I did switch it off and then back on and it started going again.....but didnt leave it on as what had happened got me thinking an inline may not be able to be positioned like this???? or do i have a faulty fan???? Ple…

I installed these fans recently, am having trouble deciding on an easy and effective way to filter the air coming in, block light and hopefully muffle the sound as i didn't expect it to be quite so loud, I think I'm ok for neighbours but better safe than sorry. Have a few different ideas but any suggestions would be great. the fans are 120mm and i can't see myself being able to attatch ducting to the back of them so not too sure. Have an idea to try but anything more sound would be great. The next question will be how to build a carbon filter onto the back of my ceiling exhaust for which I am already planning something but my creativity is not as great as many of you …

Greetings fellow Burks Back Yard Growers. My first indoor grow was so sucessfull that I have made the new grow cupboard bigger and much more " technically " cleaner My question is the smell was kinda "STELTHLESS" you could smell it all round the house I gather carbon filters or scrubbers are the go but I don't actually know how they work ? Do they have to be attached to something or a fan or what ? Can I make small cheep ones or do they have to be large ? I have looked on youtube and seen some DIY examples made with pipe and pantyhoes etc but none of them actually show "HOW THEY WORK" where to put them. I know, I'm a little slow but what do you expect after 45 years on…

G'day guys and gals. Firstly, just a quick disclaimer - I'm baked. Secondly, I've done a search, and after reading the first 28 pages of the 68 pages of results, couldn't find what I was after, so now I'm here. Ok, I've got a 370mm wide x 400mm deep x 1200mm high cupboard. Everything is ready except the ventilation, and the seeds are cracking. I have a 125mm fan to put anywhere in the cupboard. It's a computer fan, so can be mounted either inside somewhere, or used as an exhaust fan. I'd prefer to mount it inside up high in a corner blowing down on top of the plant, and will have plenty of passive ventilation. Sort of a positive pressure effect. What are som…

I know there a lot of threads around about CFL's......and everyone says you cant go past useing HPS for good buds, and CFL's are only good for veg I have been reading all of em and looked at a few CFL vids on youtube, Dudes seem to be getting some good buds useing CFL's? the ones I have seen look like household CFL's?, small compared to the big succa growlush CFL's. Mind you they had a few bulbs in theig grow rooms. After breakint the 400mm cooltube the other week I decided to try CFL's in my fridge, for the time being, untill I can get my hands on a old wardrobe to fit mt 600mm cooltube into. I know there are 2 types of CFL the 6400 for veg and the 2700 for flower. I am …

Does anyone know what voltage (watts) and size, i.e. how many individual diodes (eg. 250?) it would take to grow two plants in a small bathroom 2.6m x 2.5m x 1.6m? Would the lack of heat effect plant growth if grown during winter temps 6c-22c ? The big plus is the ratio of blue and red light for growing and flowering, but what are the negatives, aside from cost? Thanks.

Hi everyone I'm looking to set up for my first grow. By necessity this will have to be a grow tent inside a built-in large wardrobe. I'll be placing an odoursock & extraction fan in there + an oscillating fan or two inside the tent. I'm looking at a Growlush mylar grow tent - 0.9Mx0.5Mx1.6M - so it's going to be narrow, i can't go past 50cm for the depth. My plan is most likely 2 (or 3?) feminised plants in soil watering by hand as I want to keep it as simple as possible. So, 250w or 400w HPS (or will this be overkill in such a small place ?) thanks
