Hi all, am starting my seconds grow soon, just abut finished my cabinet, The dimensions are l/w/h 0.9M / 0.65M / 1.6M I have got a 400W HPS globe and a white shade ( not a cool tube). I am at the ventilation stage and am a bit stuck on what to do. So now i am looking to either get a cool tube + intake fan, or just try an intake fan to keep the temps down. Did a trial run with no extraction and the temps got to 37 within a bit over an hour. Ambient was about 20ish. So just wondering with the collective wisdom here, in your opinions would a inline fan be enough to keep this sucker cool? Or should i get a cool tube and inline fan? OR cool tube +centri fan I…

Hi all! This is one of my very first posts, so please correct me if i get anything wrong! Now, I'm building up a little concealed greenhouse and i need a little help when it comes to the venting side of it. Firstly, Should the intake pressure be higher than the exhaust vacuum, or vice versa? ie, should the fan PUSH cold air onto the light and out the other side, OR should the exhaust PULL the hot air away??? EDIT: Found this bit, Negative pressure is the key here, PULL the heat away, not push the cold in. Secondly, (prays to the gods of green someone knows this) a 250 HPS doesn't exacly generate huuuuuge amounts of heat, however would anyone have any idea…

Got a fridge box going, CFL veg in the freezer section down bottom, CFL flower up top in main compartment. Running 90mm pvc storm pipe elbows as venting/light traps, and am gonna need to organise some sort of carbon filter for the flower box, got an idea, using flyscreen and 2 sizes of pipe, but have no idea what sort of fan I need. So, I want a 90-100mm fan I suppose, but am an absolute novice with fans/ducts. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/EZI-AIR-INLINE-FAN-100MM-240V-21W-/400232761122?pt=AU_Seed_Starting_Hydroponics&hash=item5d2fbb4722#ht_1081wt_698 something like that maybe? Is it gonna have the trousers to push through a carbon filter? Thanks for looking…

HI there all if you didnt read my old post i have decided to go with a 150mm cent fan and a 150mm by 500mm carbon filter with my grow lush grow tent and atm i have my filter hanging from the crappy white braces that go across the top of the tent as there is no extras support bars for this tent. and the pipe corner joiners are bending a little. I am just wondering if anyone has used a grow lush tent and hung their filters from anywhere else on the tent or used some sort of stand that the filter can sit on top of or be strapped to?? sorry for the rant i have been googling this for ages and i cant find any info on growlush tents so thanks for the replies in advance i should …

Hi all this may be a little confusing as I am high as s*%t and had a few drinks . Ok well I have a few questions about how to position my fan to my reflector. I was thinking of fixing my carbon filter to the top of my 4x4x6 grow tent with my fan positioned on the side of the reflector drawing air through the filter and pushing it straight into my reflector then out through a short line of ducting. I am asking do you think this will effectivly exhast and cool my tent and reflector as well as killing the smell of growing?. This saves on having to run three seperate fans I am running a 600w hps for flower and I am just going to swap the lamp for veg. Also can anyone recomen…

hey people, Bought the subj a while ago on hydroshop assistant's advice so have to stick with it for my first setup i'm building now The odour suppression is of concern and i'm trying to work out what sort of filter would best fit with it If anyone's had experience with it, would u pls brief on what sort of filter you are use and how you power it ie. on/off with time intervals or constantly Having done some research, I'm coming to realize a carbon option wouldn't be best for axial fans, but, like I said, can't get rid of it and go for a centrifugal one, unless there are too convincing pros My grow room is 1x1x1.8 (m) . Even though hydro shop salesman said I su…

These are pic’s of a plant just chopped, it was from bag seed, Did not like it at all, very airy, only left it because I had nothing to replace it with. But that all changed, it has been replaced with by a Tahoe OG Kush (see grow diary). The reason I posted the pic’s was to show the penetration a 1000w has, the plant still had a couple of weeks to go so it would probably thickened up some more but it had to go. If you look at the buds you can see a fairly even thickness from top to bottom. The 1000 does a good job, 800mm of usually good thick bud.

Im thinking about 400 watt hps kit smth like this Any ideas ? IM gonna keep my box on build up balcony and don't wanna make me neighbours wondering -"what is this strange lights coming from ? " Originally I;ve been thinking about stick some kind pipes 120 mm long 6-10 cm so they "tunnel" light or drill holes at the bottom?

this is my first grow indoors. I have some seedlings comming up in my veg box under 2 48w cfls. I am going to get a tent for flowering 1.4 x 1.4 x 2m with a cool tube. my only concern is what hps light to get. I live in the north so it get quite hot and humid, im worried about the 600w causing too much heat, should i play it safe and get the 400w or would a 600 be alright?

I saw these new globes somewhere on the net, they are apparently a HPS arc tube enclosed within the gases of a MH bulb. Phillips are the only company to make them as far as I know, they are said to provide the best spectrum for growth, both veg and flower but have their restrictions in that they need a high quality analog ballast and must be close to perfectly horizontal or you risk burn out. Here's a link: http://www.growlightexpress.com/pages/ceramic-metal-halide-pv-c0-2.html Anyone have any experience with these?
