Hey all, found some interesting info for anyone setting up multiple ducts in their room. Chef Read On: Flow of Air Now, the challenge is to get the proper amount of air into each room at the same time. This is where things begin to get complicated. Here is the problem. The furnace blower fan only creates a certain amount of energy at any given instant. This energy is constant. If one room gets too much air (energy), there won't be enough for the remaining rooms. Remember, different amounts of air (energy) are going to each room. To achieve the goal of getting the proper amount of air (energy) into each room at the same time is to have equalized static pre…

hey all, I have a 6x6x6 room with two 600w cooltubes, and am wondering if one 150mm centrifugal fan will be adequate to vent the room through a cf AND the cooltubes. My room has a passive intake. i am a bit stumped on setting it up. Should I go : CF, fan, split to cooltubes, exhaust? Or: Passive intakes for cooltubes, 3 way splitter(one for the Cf), fan, exhaust? I have heard it is better for the fan to blow air through cooltubes, rather than suck hot air through the fan. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated! Chef

Hi people, Got issue with room hovering around 30-32 degrees under lights. I have two pedestal fans, a 200mm inline air intake from outdoors, a small portable aircon (which does F'kall) and carbon filter drawing air out. To me it seems the carbon filter isnt drawing out the air quick enough. Would it be worth getting a 300mm inline fan just to draw that extra hot air out of the room Summer hasn't even kicked in yet. Also my room is set up properly and insulated. Your thoughts please................

hey folks Im not knocking this new 12-1 lighting regime here ..ok just posting a couple of observations ive made over the years ive been growing .. so make what you will of the following often i grow outdoors in summer so i start the plants off indoors under hps 13 hours light(gradually increasing over time), 11 hrs dark, so that when i put the plants out they are roughly on the same timeline as the Sun and dont go straight to flower when i grow indoors exclusively i run 18 to 20 hours light, 6-4 hours dark (average) now for me it is as plain as the nose on ya face that the 18/6 light plants outstrip the growth of the 13 hr light plants by a phenomenal amount. …

Hi Ozstonians! I am tempted to purchase a lumatek from the states. This is why 600w AU $362 USA $232 Inc Shipping 1000W AU $450 USA $355 Inc Shipping the states have them in both 120/240 variable and as a dedicated 240v version. I was wondering if the mains plugs on these things are hard wired? or of they are similar in the way a PC power cable works and you can disconnect the power lead and reattach a new one? If any one could check their Aussie version to see if the cable disconnect would be appreciated. Better yet if anyone has purchased one from the states i would love to hear about it. Thanks

Hi all, I'm having a lot of trouble figuring out the best choice of fan for my new tent. Ive been reading so much my brain is starting to overload and I still cant make up my mind so was hoping one of you nice people could double check my calculations please (mostly worked out with the Cannaversity calc.) Tent - 1.5mtr x 1.5mtr x 2.0mtr (5ft x 5ft x 6.75ft) = apx 25.0 sq feet light 600w CFM - 139 Light 1000w CFM - 153.5 (Will be running a 600w HPS for the hotter weather but do want to upgrade to a 1000w HPS later on.) So going on the 1000w specs the room requires 155CFM, x2 that for pressure resistance via carbon filter = 310CFM, x 1/3 for temps = 360CFM x…

Hi Peeps, I brought a 600W quantum ballast that came from the states. Had to buy a new main power cord with standard australian power points and today just brought a 150mm cooltube but that cord won't plug into the ballast either.. I knew I'd have to get the new power cord but wasn't expecting a cooltube not to plug into it....Just want to see if anyone can help me out as i dont really want to fork out for another cooltube or ballast. Just seeing if there is something I can do....

Hi, i've got a 400w hps bulb that i'm testing in my grow cupboard (500x750x1500mm) and at first observations itt would seem to create too much heat for this area.. my question is would it be possible to run this lighting wattage with a good ventilation system, and what would i need in terms of size, 150, 250mm fan? i'm looking away from cooltubes except for a las resort. any advice would be greatly appreciated, cheers, dizzy

Nothing major but saw this in the catalogue and know my set up could benefit from the extra air flow What do u guys think? Good deal? I didn't even notice the tower till i was taking a photo of the other fan, as it looks like it can be manouvered easily in any direction with 3 speeds could come in handy, then saw the 75 degree oscillating tower, am imaging two opposing each other being a great air mover but is it worth the 90w, im not sure.

Hi guys, hoping for some advice on my indoor grow pls. I have just upgraded my inline fan to a centrifugal fan and carbon filter but am really struggling to fit both together in the space I have available. My questions are - does the fan need to go directly onto the filter or can I run ducting from my filter (in the grow room) to the fan (outside the grow room - this distance would be no greater than about 1.5 - 2 meters) without loosing efficiency of both the fan and/or the filter. - can a centrifugal fan be baffled in the same way as an inline fan ? i.e. I baffled my inline fan by having it inside a 200 litre brewers barrel and using pillows/blankets etc as a …
