ORANGE'S cannabis clinic will be fully operational by late November, despite initial frustration. Greater Western Area Health Service public affairs officer Tony Webber says the clinic is already seeing a small number of clients on an "operational trial" basis. A man will appear in court next month after being charged with drug offences at Panania yesterday. About 8am police from Bass Hill Target Action Group, with the assistance of State Protection Group (SPG) Dog Unit, executed a search warrant on a home in Malvern Street. Police searched a house in Spitfire Drive at Raby in Sydney's southwest yesterday and found the hydroponic set-up under the house, in the dining room and three upstairs bedrooms. Investigators seized 336 cannabis plants, growth lamps, chemicals and a sum of cash. A 25-year-old woman and 41-year-old man were arrested at the house and charged with cultivating a commercial quantity of prohibited plants and goods in custody. Detectives from the South-East Asian Crime Squad say they have charged a couple after discovering a sophisticated cannabis set-up in the home at south Liverpool. Cannabis worth $1 million and stolen property has been seized in a police raid in western Sydney. A woman, 41, was charged with having goods in custody and cultivating a prohibited plant and was bailed to appear in Liverpool Court on November 3. Police found 300 plants and $22,000 in cash while executing a search warrant at a house in Unwin Road, Cabramatta West late on Thursday morning. One in 50 Victorian drivers tested positive for drug use, according to police, five times the rate of motorists found to be driving drunk. Victoria Police announced that 10,546 drivers had been tested for drug use since new roadside testing was rolled out in December last year.
