ACT police will begin roadside drug testing across Canberra from today. Legislation giving police powers to conduct random roadside tests for drugs came into effect in December. Police will now detain drivers to take saliva swabs to test for drugs like cannabis, methamphetamine and ecstasy. "The test is administered through a saliva test and it does take longer than drink driving test.
