Cortlan Bennett From: AAP November 30, 2011 2:19PM Source: PerthNow http://www.perthnow.com.au/news/get-tough-laws-benefit-crime/story...1226210475068 "TOUGH new cannabis and proposed prostitution laws are driving people towards harder drugs and organised crime, Western Australia's opposition says. Under former WA Labor government laws, possession of two outdoor plants or up to 30g of cannabis resulted in a $150 spot fine and no criminal charge. The current Liberal-National government tightened the laws in July, punishing possession of 10g or more of cannabis with up to two years' jail or a $2000 fine."

MORE than 100kg of cannabis dumped in a creek near Warrnambool was past its best before date, according to police. The 71 packages discovered in Mount Emu Creek were found over two days from October 26 after packages were first discovered by a local farmer. In an initial search of the creek police found 51 bags of the drug, before an anonymous tip a day later lead them to 18 more packages dumped nearby. Valued at over $700,000, had it still been in a viable condition, the major haul would put the health of anyone attempting to use it in jeopardy and was no longer saleable. It is believed to have been dumped between October 23 and October 26 by a person driving ac…

taken from - http://news.ninemsn.com.au/national/8367430/two-men-charged-over-cannabis-set-up Two men have been charged after cannabis with a street value of $1.25 million was seized on the NSW central coast. Police were patrolling the Pacific Highway at North Wyong when they noticed a strong smell of cannabis about midnight on Sunday. A short time later, police went to a residence on the Pacific Highway and knocked on the door. When no one answered, police established a guard at the property and applied for a search warrant. While waiting, police allegedly saw two people running from the house into nearby bushland. A police dog unit found two men, who were…

WHAT do you do with a haul of more than 33,000 cannabis plants worth in excess of $82 million? If there is a total fire ban you truck it to a nearby sugar mill and burn it. The $82 million stash - uncovered two weeks ago at a Mt Pelion property - was Queensland's biggest cannabis haul of 2011 and these pictures show it being disposed of at Farleigh mill. Police from a Brisbane drug squad, dressed in camouflage, and Farleigh mill workers can be seen getting the crop ready for the mill's furnace. The cannabis plants were trucked to the mill on Friday, October 7, the same afternoon police announced they had seized the plants over a three-day period. While the evide…

http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/griffith-mafia-returns-to-its-grass-roots-20110402-1csdc.html ORGANISED crime is back in business in Griffith as the mafia returns to its traditional ''grass-roots'' operation in the Riverina district. More than 30 years after the contract killing of Griffith anti-drugs campaigner Donald Mackay, police have finished a two-week swoop on the area, netting $23 million worth of marijuana hidden in three vineyards and an orange orchard. Cannabis-related crime exposé: Murdochritude Now it seems that merely wearing a tee shirt with a cannabis leaf on it has driven a man to insane criminal acts, because the burgers are better when you don't have to pay for them. My Mother warned me that wearing tee-shirts was a slippery slope to chewing gum, learning the guitar and choking to death on your own vomit.

good or bad? depends what side of the fence u are on eg buy or sell. the cannabis laws have been in for nearly a month. normally the max price for an ounce in WA is 350, the other day talking to a mate 380 he paid this was because of the new laws its not going to stop any one they just put there price up because of the risk involved. wait another month or two and another price hike will be indroduce thanks to the state government attacking the states energy suppliers in whom have no problem passing it onto us like i said b4 it either good or bad depends what side u are on lets hope your on the right one stay hi saleonnow
