Man in court over $2.7m drug bust June 11, 2004 A MAN charged over a cannabis haul worth $2.7 million following raids across Sydney's west was due to appear in court today. Police today said officers had simultaneously raided seven homes in Marrickville, Earlwood, Greenacre and Fairfield last week. A Darwin supermarket was yesterday served with a first drug premises notice after police said customers were offered the chance to buy drugs with their groceries. FORMER Port Adelaide footballer David Granger today lost an appeal against his conviction and four-year jail sentence for growing cannabis for sale. Last year, Granger was found guilty of knowingly having cannabis in his possession for the purpose of selling it. He had earlier pleaded guilty to a further charge of knowingly producing cannabis. Voronezh city court has ruled that Yukos can legally sell its Cannabis brand vodka, Interfax reports. A case against Yukos had been filed by the State Service for Drug Control on April 21, accusing Yukos of violating the law against propagandizing drugs. Customs officers acting on a tip-off from a shipping company have foiled a sophisticated drug smuggling attempt, seizing more than 600kg of cannabis hidden in a container at Fremantle Port. A 67-year-old man is to appear in a Lithgow court today after police allegedly found more than 100 kilograms of marijuana in his possession. Acting on information police say they stopped the man while he was driving his car in Lithgow, in central west NSW, yesterday morning. They say a search of the vehicle found a kilogram of marijuana.
