Cannabis Culture Warning above is a link to cannabis culture's warning about the DEA and marc emery being busted....aparently the DEA is stealing mail, putting their own letter inside and sending it off to the person who was meant to get seeds :thumbdown the letters basically say that to recieve your original order + 20 free seeds, you must send them $50 or $100 using identifiable means and the money is being sent to different names in vancouver its a scary ass read and i strongly recommend having a look if you intend on ordering seeds online as cannabis culture thinks this is only the beginning

The drug that gives smokers the munchies could also suppress hunger Scientists have unveiled an unlikely weapon in the battle against the bulge: cannabis. More specifically, one of its key ingredients, which has been found to suppress appetite. Anyone who has ever inhaled will know the feeling: an inescapable desire to eat everything in sight, a state called the munchies. It stems from the action of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), one of the active ingredients in cannabis, on specific appetite-control receptors in the brain. The chemical also causes the body to lay down more fat. But Roger Pertwee, a neuropharmacologist at Aberdeen University, said yesterday at the Briti…

Emery, Jailed 'Prince of Pot' He's portrayed as a greedy kook, but I know a true crusader. By Brian Preston It’s a strange feeling to dig out something you wrote years ago and read it with fresh eyes. I’m looking at a story from Rolling Stone, April 1998, called Vancouver’s Pot Experiment. “In the Nineties,” I wrote, “Vancouver has been home to a thriving community of marijuana activists—idealistic hippies who believe in hemp’s power to save the world. But it took the arrival of Marc Emery, a bluff, energetic entrepreneur with a history of getting involved in hot button issues, to push Vancouver into its new incarnation: “Vansterdam.” The editors at Rolling Stone ad…

As US politicians crack down on the sale of marijuana-flavoured lollipops, another debate is raging between their manufacturers and hemp product advocates over what is in the candy. Hemp advocates say the candy makers aren't being honest about what's in their confection and that publicity is hurting the sale of legal hemp products, made from a variety of the cannabis plant. California-based Chronic Candy advertises that every lick of its candy is "like taking a hit". The company, though, says the candies contain only hemp oil, a common ingredient in health food, beauty supplies and other household products. "There is nothing illegal in our ingredients and they are…

DRUG gangs are gutting suburban houses and building massive rural sheds to grow their marijuana as the hide-and-seek battle with police intensifies. Improved aerial surveillance has forced growers to abandon massive outdoor crops and move indoors where they are using sophisticated hydroponic techniques to grow super-strength cannabis. Police say gangs are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on properties and equipment. In some cases, interior walls of homes as well as furniture and fittings are being removed to maximise the growing area under special intense lighting and temperature controls. Hydroponic cannabis is more potent than marijuana grown outdoors …

Cannabis ... no effect on pain, according to a new ruling /supplied CANNABIS has no role in the treatment of acute pain, contrary to popular belief, according to Australian guidelines designed to improve doctors' and patients' "abysmal" knowledge of pain relief options. Although many experts believe cannabis may help relieve chronic (or long-term) pain, the guidelines launched in Sydney yesterday by federal Health Minister Tony Abbott say solid evidence now shows it has little efficacy with acute pain. Acute pain is defined as pain lasting up to two to three weeks after surgery, trauma or a medical condition such as kidney stones. The previous edition of the guidelin…

Production of cannabis, the most commonly used street drug in the world, has jumped by around 25% in one year, the United Nations said in a report on Wednesday. An estimated 161 million people used cannabis in 2003, equivalent to 4% of the global population between the ages of 15 and 64, the UN said its 2005 World Drug Report. The production of cannabis - marijuana and hashish - may have exceeded 40 000 tons in 2003, up from 32 000 the previous year, said the report by the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). The production of herbal cannabis is "extremely dispersed", while production of cannabis resin, or hashish, seems to be concentrated in Morocco, which supplie…
