NEW YORK -- In a city where you can get just about anything delivered to your door -- groceries, dry cleaning, Chinese food -- pot smokers are ordering takeout marijuana from drug rings that operate with corporate-style attention to customer satisfaction. An untold number of otherwise law-abiding professionals in New York are having their pot delivered to their homes instead of visiting drug dens or hanging out on street corners. Among the legions of home delivery customers is Chris, a 37-year-old salesman in Manhattan. He dials a pager number and gets a return call from a cheery dispatcher who takes his order for potent strains of marijuana. Within a couple of hour…

Aboriginal Affairs Minister Milton Orkopoulos was arrested at 7.30 yesterday morning at his home in Belmont, Lake Macquarie, and charged with 30 offences. He was released from Newcastle Court late yesterday on $20,000 bail. Mr Iemma said he was not informed u…

Marijuana Strategic Findings * Asian criminal groups3 are expanding their position relative to wholesale distribution of Canada-produced, high potency marijuana in every region of the country. In fact, increasing distribution of high potency marijuana by Asian criminal groups as well as expansion of domestic high potency marijuana production appears to be significantly raising the average potency of marijuana in U.S. drug markets, elevating the threat posed by the drug. * The amount of marijuana available to domestic drug markets appears to be increasing slightly. This increase, coupled with decreasing demand for the drug, will quite likely result in lower pr…

Drug agents have raided one of the largest marijuana operations ever discovered in Gila County. The garden, located east of Payson and about a half mile east of the Tonto Creek Fish Hatchery, contained about 30,000 plants spread out over a half-mile area. The raid on the illegal operation occurred July 29 but law enforcement officers didn't begin eradication of the plants, some of which were seven feet tall, until Aug. 3. The garden was kept intact to allow other law enforcement officers, state officials and the media an opportunity to visit the site and see the garden firsthand. Also, local officers from the Gila County Narcotics Task Force and Department of Public…

Burger's new herb Catherine Philp, Los Angeles November 09, 2006 SOME might call it the ultimate happy meal. But two police officers in New Mexico were unamused to discover the hamburgers they were chomping through had been laced with marijuana. Mark Landavazo and Henry Gabaldond are suing fast-food giant Burger King, alleging an array of offences from battery to negligence. The two officers were in uniform and driving a marked patrol car when they stopped at a Burger King restaurant in Los Lunas, New Mexico. They were halfway through their meal when they began to suspect the presence of an intoxicating substance on their burger patties. Tests confirmed that the e…

HHOHHO, 30 October (IRIN) - A fundamental shift in Swaziland's attitude towards the cannabis plant, or hemp, the country's most lucrative cash crop, could be on the horizon. The government is set to allow small-scale production of hemp to see if it has the potential to become an economically viable crop. "In hemp we have an alternative to cotton, which has let us down badly over the last few years. It has been because of marijuana that we have found it difficult to talk about hemp, but that is changing, and we are beginning to shape public opinion to its benefits," said Lufto Dlamini, the Swazi Minister for Enterprise and Employment. "The government is considering a p…

The Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority has fined and reprimanded two players for testing positive to cannabis during the last National Basketball League season. Melbourne Tigers forward Rashad Tucker and former Perth player David Bailey tested positive to the banned drug during in-competition testing, and were fined $5,000 each. Bailey is no longer registered in the NBL after being released from his contract with the Wildcats at the end of last season. Basketball Australia said it supported the action taken against both players. A witness known only as APW2 said former NSW police officer Samuel John Foster had asked him to organise the purchase of 1kg from a dealer in Enfield in southwest Sydney in September 2002. Mr Foster, 41, and former Victorian police officer James Anthony McCabe would stage a drug bust during the deal and the men would split the drugs among themselves, APW2 told Downing Centre Local Court today. "He (Mr Foster) said he would make it look like a drugs bust and I would be arrested," he said. "He…

Quite funny I think. It's a shame one of the little 14 year old snitches decided to dob him in to the principal. Kids these days, I don't know. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Teacher dealt drugs in front of class August 10, 2006 12:00am Article from: The Daily Telegraph WHILE most teachers give out homework during class, a New South Wales casual teacher John Fitzgerald Kennedy dished out marijuana to students instead. During his Year 9 maths class at Sydney's Epping Boys High School earlier this year, he let slip to the 12 students he liked to drink and smoke marijuana on weekends. This opened the door for a 14-year-old…

180,000km..one Winnebago ..... NSW Government will try to scare drug-using drivers off the roads with the use of a single, unmarked Winnebago motor home. The State's only roadside drug-testing bus will be responsible for policing 4.5 million licence holders in NSW and its patrol area will cover 180,000km of road. As well as a drug-testing lab, the $350,000 Winnebago has CCTV, kitchen and bathroom facilities and a flat-screen TV. It is unmarked because police are hoping to blend in with van-loving "grey nomads'' to catch drivers by surprise when the bus hits the road for the Christmas holidays. Offenders will face fines of up to $2200, prison sentences of up to n…

Article from: The Sunday Mail (Qld) Font size: + - Send this article: Print Email POLICE locked down Fortitude Valley late last night with a string of drug raids on some of Brisbane's most popular nightclubs. Dozens of people were charged as a drug-sniffing dog was randomly run past the lines of mostly young people waiting to enter the clubs about 11pm. The operation -- involving almost 100 police and named Black Dog 2 -- targeted cannabis, MDMA (ecstasy) and amphetamines. Men and women suspected of possessing drugs were questioned and then made to stand with their hands against walls and legs apart while they were searched. In April, a similar raid on four Vall…

November 04, 2006 09:52am Article from: AAP ELECTRICAL wiring to power hydroponics for a marijuana crop is being blamed for a house fire in Melbourne. More than 100 marijuana plants were found in the roof of a rented Riddle St house at West Meadows when fire fighters attended the blaze about 2.45am (AEDT) today. Metropolitan Fire Brigade officers wearing breathing apparatus took less than an hour to put out the fire but remained at the property while police set up a crime scene. Gas and electricity suppliers were called. "The thought is that the amount of power being used and the way it was being used may have caused the fire," an MFB spokesman said. Sgt Glenn…
