By MICHELLE DUFF - Manawatu Standard 28/03/2009 http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/crime/2301...uproot-cannabis © 2009 Fairfax New Zealand Limited A cannabis swoop by Central Districts police has netted more than 1800 plants and seen 12 people arrested for drug-related offences. Operation Christie is a yearly drug crackdown by a 25-strong police team, who join with Air Force personnel to wipe out drug growing in the region. In a two-day "recovery" phase using Iroquois helicopters and a separate ground force team, police seized 1834 plants across the Manawatu, Horowhenua and Tararua regions. Of these, 852 plants were pulled from a clandestine spot on the Puketoi r…

27/03/09 http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/articl...wKNmEAD975OIB81 ©2009 Google JERUSALEM (AP) — Israeli police say they have seized thousands of marijuana water pipes in a raid on a factory in northern Israel. Spokesman Micky Rosenfeld says police entered the building in Haifa this week and confiscated 15,000 bongs that were planned for distribution. He says the factory's 60-year-old owner was arrested. Pipes and other drug paraphernalia are a common sight at Israeli kiosks. But Rosenfeld said Thursday that these items were banned a few weeks ago and police are cracking down. The majority of marijuana is smuggled into Israel by Bedouin across the porous b…

Anyone have any info on this BS? "Heavy hit: cannabis syndrome alert * March 23, 2009 - 5:08PM There is mounting evidence to support the existence of a syndrome afflicting heavy cannabis users, after the world's first cases were found in South Australia. The condition "cannabinoid hyperemesis" was first identified in a group of about 20 heavy drug users in the Adelaide hills in 2004, and a new case has emerged this time in the US. The syndrome is characterised by nausea, stomach pain and bouts of vomiting - ill effects which, oddly, sufferers say they get some relief from by having a hot shower or bath. The new case, involving a 22-year-old man in Omaha, i…

This week’s LEAP Blog is about issues that I have been anticipating for the upcoming year in a very positive way both here in Canada and in the United States. 2009 will certainly be an interesting one for our countries. Barak Obama has now taken over the presidency of the United States and the country is about to change for the better. Obama is a Democrat, which is our saving grace. So am I. http://rawstory.com/news/afp/Clinton_arriv...m_03252009.html When Vanda works out how the government can make money for the people out of blunting consumer demand for drugs, perhaps it can be explained to CG. Until then, seems like business as usual.
