Hi all...back again. After looking through the wording in the drugaware.com.au brochure "There are New Laws on Cannabis in Western Australia", it would seem that a CIN would only be issued if two plants were found per household, not per person in the household....does that seem right? "•possession by an adult of no more than two cannabis plants under cultivation at that person’s principal place of residence provided that the plants are not hydroponically grown and that no other person is growing other cannabis plants on the same premises - (penalty $200)" Also, the article that Phreak1987 linked seems to support this in the explanatory notes... " Subclause 7(2) d…

Dutch coffeeshops 'on strike' on election day http://www.rnw.nl/english/article/dutch-co...ke-election-day Published on : 12 March 2010 - 8:40pm | By Johan van Slooten Dutch "coffee shops", a euphemism for outlets selling soft-drugs, have announced they are going on strike on 9 June, the day the country will hold parliamentary elections. The idea behind closing for the day is to encourage all those who like to smoke a joint to get out and vote for the parties which will ensure that coffee shops will not be banned in the Netherlands. Nol van Schaik <http://nolvanschaik.info/index.html>, who owns a coffee shop in Haarlem, launched the campaign because he f…

Interesting times when 'big media' starts releasing stories like these. I'll kick off with a summary. The full article follows, and is fairly wide-ranging. Summary: "Politicians are finally catching up with the American public" Some good statistics here: A Gallup Poll last October found 44% of Americans favor making marijuana legal (as in outright legal for recreational use), an eight-point jump since the question was asked in 2005. An ABC News-Washington Post poll in January found 81% favor making marijuana legal for medical use. Try to find another political issue with that level of support. Also, * California considering outright legalization of cannabis, …

Hemp farming in sydneys backyard RICHARD FRIAR loves growing dope. His backyard on the northern beaches is full of the stuff - 500 plants, to be precise. But Mr Friar is no dealer, and this is no under ground plantation. The 66-year-old and his wife, Wendy, are proud owners of australias first licensed industrial hemp crop to be grown in an urban area. "I'd prefer you didn't publish exactly where we are," he says. "Even though this is no good for smoking, you can imagine what would happen if people found out. " The Friars are hemp evangelelists; firm believers in the world-changing potential of this most versatile of plants, which can be used for everything from…

CHULUOTA, Fla. -- College students suspected in a massive marijuana operation that was busted in Central Florida went to court on Friday. In March 1999 a man living in Kandos (near Mudgee in NSW, Australia ) received a bill for his as yet unused gas line stating that he owed $0.00. He ignored it and threw it away. In April he received another bill and threw that one away too. The following month the gas company sent him a very nasty note stating that they were going to cancel his gas line if he didn't send them $0.00 by return mail. He called them, talked to them, and they said it was a computer error and they would take care of it. The following month he decided that it was about time that he tried out the troublesome gas line figuring that if there was usage on the account it woul…

End hempseed food ban: businessman thewest.com.au 29th November 2008, 9:00 WST http://www.thewest.com.au/default.aspx?Men...ontentID=110650 A Perth businessman wants the Federal Government to lift a ban on the sale of hempseed foods and oils for human consumption, arguing they have a better balance of essential fatty acids than popular fish oil. Hemp Resources chief executive Kim Hough has written to his local MP and Foreign Affairs Minister Stephen Smith calling for an exemption from the Australian food standard which makes hemp foods illegal for human ingestion. Hempseed and its oil come from the leaf of the cannabis plant but do not have any psychotropic prope…

This is not a news story as such. But more of a reminder how the Queensland Police Service has one lot of standards for civilians in the State of Queenland 'n a different rule book for themselves. Our QPS is that good. It apears they don't require Random Drug Testing. It's a pity the rest of the public don't agree with them. But then again civilians are probably just ticked off that they can be subjected to drug testing in the workplace and on our roads. And yet officers of the law get to slip through the net, time and time again. Poll results aquired from Gold Coast Bulletin
