Read this the other day... thought I'd post seeing as no one else had already... WTF Okay Gardener is a sick fuck who should never be left in control of a minor ever again. But WTF Murdock journalist? Does 'pot and abortion' really make a bigger story than 'slavery and child abuse'? I suppose so, no priests were involved.

Posted March 29, 2012 14:51:12 Workers at a New South Wales energy company will no longer have to give urine sample for drug tests, after a ruling by Fair Work Australia. The arbitrator has ruled in favour of trade unions, which had argued the state-owned Endeavour Energy should use oral swabs for testing instead. Scott McNamara, from the United Services Union, says Fair Work Australia found urine testing was invasive and unjust. "The tribunal took a view that drug testing is not for social monitoring. Drug testing is to seek if you are fit for work, and that gets down to workplace safety," he said. "What people do on the weekend does not necessarily have a bearing o…

http://www.sunshinec...rug-boy-parade/ THE 14-year-old boy facing drug charges in Bali spent last night with asylum seekers in an immigration detention centre after being suddenly shifted from his police cell following the intervention of Indonesia's Justice Minister. Shielding his face from the cameras, the teenager wore a half balaclava, sunglasses and hat as he arrived at the facility at Jimbaran Bay, which has recently been rebuilt after asylum seekers burnt much of it down last year. In bizarre scenes, the teenager from Morisset Park on Lake Macquarie was even required to attend a press conference where the move was explained, although he did not say anything…

I originally thought it might have a chance of succeeding in the border towns, but even Maastricht has come out to oppose the legislation. Dutch marijuana advocates face off with Cabinet AMSTERDAM — Dutch coffee shop owners went to court Wednesday in a last ditch bid to block a government plan to stop foreigners from buying marijuana in the Netherlands. Lawyers representing the coffee shops oppose what would be the most significant change in decades to the country's famed soft drug tolerance: turning marijuana cafes into "members only" clubs open solely to Dutch residents. Members would only be able to get into the coffee shops by registering for a "weed pass" and…

The internet has increased opportunities to buy illicit drugs and accelerated drug trends The Australia21 report argues the “war on drugs” has failed and we should consider other options for controlling drugs, such as decriminalisation or regulation. In addition to these arguments, an important challenge for drug prohibition has been overlooked in the drugs debate so far: the internet. While the internet has opened up new opportunities to buy drugs, it has also accelerated new drug trends. In the past year, we’ve seen the emergence of two key trends: synthetic cannabinoids (sold as Kronic, K2, Spice, among other names) and the anonymous online marketplace Silk Road. …

Check this out: www.themercury.com.au/article/2012/01/28/296095_todays-news.html Does anyone else find this completely unacceptable? I'm not sure if the drugs were cannabis or not, that has not been disclosed, but I don't think that's important. It has become clear to me that the war on drugs is on some shaky legs when this is what's necessary. Maybe this is the perfect ammo to issue a wake up call to the powers to be? Help to stand up for this girl. Yes it appears she comes from a family of drug dealers but how is that her fault? The consensus down here seems to be that she comes from a bogan family so it's O.K. I'd love to read some thoughts

A number of California winemakers are secretly producing wines laced with cannabis, with Cabernet Sauvignon the grape variety of choice for the blend. http://www.thedrinksbusiness.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Marijuana1-350x350.jpg “Pot wine is increasingly fashionable in wine country – much of the marijuana used for the wine comes from California’s weed capital Humboldt County,” Crane Carter, president of the Napa Valley Marijuana Growers said. “Cabernet Sauvignon from the Stag’s Leap district is thought to pair particularly well with pot,” Carter added. According to Carter, pot wine delivers a quicker high than pot brownies, and the combination of alcoho…

However I don't see how this prevents being arrested... Surely the owner of the machine is responsible for it's contents? Still, an interesting idea.

Spanish town of Rasquera leases land for marijuana plantation Town's mayor says scheme, which is legal, is chance to bring in money and create jobs Giles Tremlett in Madrid guardian.co.uk, Thursday 1 March 2012 11.53 GMT A tiny Spanish country town believes it has found a way to make unemployment, debt and economic crisis disappear in a puff of smoke – by leasing out its land for marijuana plantations. The town hall of Rasquera in Catalonia on Wednesday voted to sign a €1.3m (£1.1m) agreement with a cannabis association in nearby Barcelona to plant marijuana for its 5,000 members. It will allow the association to plant on a seven-hectare stretch of town hall land – ro…

A major phase of the Netherlands' ban on tourists patronizing coffee shops goes into effect in the country's southern provinces on May 1. Shops in Amsterdam are scheduled stop selling marijuana to foreigners on January 1, 2013. But enacting this ban may be harder than finding a 22-year-old who hasn't seen EuroTrip: the benign, psychotropic plant that grows naturally in the ground makes the country a lot of money. According to the director of the Drugtext Foundation in the Netherlands, 50% of the country's tourists visit the coffee shops, and 10% of tourism is exclusively for marijuana. The Telegraph reports that the coffee shops generate around $2.5 billion annually, whic…
