would you grow in garage ? in a white melamine wardrobe 1800x1200x600. One side of the garage would hold a car and the door would open up to the street . There would be other stuff in the garage , shelves , tools , lawnmower , crap like that . Hopefully the wardrobe would be light proof , the back would be against the wall where all the cords and vent holes were . what do you think am i paranoid ? i know if done right it would just look like a wardrobe in a garage but I cant help thinking it should be totally out of sight

Does anyone know what sort of precautions I can take to make sure I minimise the risk of fire, overload, surge, electrocution from water spillage etc etc. 2 x 600 watts plus another 1000 watts for incidentals, plus 1300 watts for air con in summer. I know nothing about safety devices and everything is running on standard power points and elcheapo $2 power boards and double adapters as there is only 1 double power point in room. Want to avoid getting a sparky in as no where to put the shit while he is there. Prepared to spend a few hundred bucks. I also don't mind wiring a quadruple power point myself if I have to. Any help much appreciated PS Air con power is not bein…

Has anyone tried different materials for soundproofing their room. I have insulated the walls with the yellow fibreglass batts held in place with a criss cross pattern of thin pine then covered in panda film as the walls were not insulated when the house was built but this was to keep some of the outside sun and heat from warming up the walls and making the room hot. The added benefit was that it quietened down the fan noise and you can barely hear it from outside. However I live in a two storey house and while my partner and I live only on the top floor any and all visitors sleep and hang out on the lower floor and noise reverberating through the floor is a problem as it…

We all know about ozonators - $250 Aust for a small 120mm unit, and the canfilters - nice too if you can afford $250 again. What about some cheaper Aussie ingenuity style solutions?

Hi Folks How many of you have ever used/considered using uniterruptible power supplies to keep the equipment happy? I get a lot of spikes and brown outs here but I have half the lighting runnin thru a single 3000va UPS. It doesnt have the ability to power the equipment for a long time, but 1-2 minutes is more than enough. Im considering getting another one, but I'm curious if anyone has any other solutions for this problem. They are *very* expensive ($3000+). I have most of my stuff running thru industrial strength 15 amp rated timers with safety switches and 15 amp cabling when Im only drawing 10 amps for every segment... Just concerned about long term equipment re…

i was just at over grow and i was looking at the odor control section. now, im a noob on the growing scene, so i was wondering if some of the people here could help me with some of this. i dont have enough money to buy an air filter, but i think i have an old air purifer somewhere that might help a little bit, right? but anyways, at overgrow they said to use a whole bunch of stuff including zeolite, incense, charcoal and other maskers. what is the best one of those to use? what is the best combo?

ok moving into new place dont have any smell control stuff never bothered with it until now 4 years growing in old place without one. i was going to get a carbonfilter for like $600 and just run my exaust thru that but all ferengis talk about his ozone generator has got me thinking. so question time- does a ozone generator take smell from finished buds? like i was going to pull exaust air out of hydroroom and just pump into bigger roomthat hydroroom is in (did that make sence) and have the ozone gen or filter at end of it but if i go with the ozonegen some air could get back in with garden and i dont want to lose any smell from buds. AS my exaust fan will be running alm…

Hi, I'm starting my first grow indoors, and am curious to what size lighting I need. I guess it does depend on space, but I dont use about 1/2 of my bedroom, so I want maximum of 2m x 2m's for a growroom. Im using MJ for medicinal purposes, as i have very bad insomnia, and do not want to take man made chemicals which dont do anything but make me drowsy and build and addiction to them. I also smoke MJ recreationally, so growing it would be a good idea, it also gives me a hobby. Well, I originally thought a 400w would do, since I've see the 430w kits and apparently they will do a 1m square room nicely. But I want to do things properly and efficiently. So, now I am opting t…

Hi everyone, im a first time grower, and im a lil worried about stealth. I was going to grow outside, only problem being im in the suburbs. So i thought maybe i could grow in my cellar? How feasable does this sound? it is fairly dry down there, i can install flouro's and even some fans. Would the smell of the plants drift up through the floorboards? I would prefer to only use flouros so is it possible to get good growth without buying those special hydro lights? Just want some general pointer about how to set this up descretly so when i have guests over its no plainly obviose im growing. I have been a member for a while, and i do read most posts, but in this case i want o…

howdy everyone, just wondering if any1 knows what fan/s would be the best for a silent indoor grow? on foxtel's TechTV they were doing experiments on cpu fans and were saying that a faily silent fan would run at around 12-15dB....are there any hydro fans especially made for stealth or anything like that? atm i have a normal rotating fan suspended in the wardrobe which blows a fair bit of air around just im in the next room, both doors are closed and i can still hear the son of a bitch humming away and its on setting 1 anyways the ones i have seen at the hydro shop were either too small and sounded like a jet engine or were way too big for my grow space all im a…
