Hi all:) I have been wary of North American marine products for some time - both east and west sides. Also, the environmental cost of posting crustacean shell to Australia is quite high. For an easier and possibly superior alternative to crab shell (both as a liming and chitin source), I would suggest using cuttlefish bones or cuttlebones. The primary component is aragonite (basically calcium carbonate) and the exoskeletal is made up of chitin. I've attached a study where they found the chitin and later chitosan production to be higher than crab shell. If you live nearby a clean beach ... just pick up some of the washed ashore cuttlebones and put them in a blender -…

Hi all Just thought I'd start a new dedicated topic to discuss Organic Pest Controls and Intergrated Pest Management (IPM). So lets have it - What has worked for you? What's your IPM? Has granny passed down any secret sauces to get rid of the little buggers? Cheers

Hi all bit of a curly one here. As of about 4 days ago Ive noticed most of the new growth clawing on one of my mothers. It started the day after giving her a trim and taking a couple of clones and has gotten worse over the last 4 days or so with the tips now showing a little burning too. Odd thing is Ive had no issues for the last 12wks in the soil it only happened after taking the cuttings. Thought it might be N toxicity so flushed her well with run off being 6.4 but just wanting other ideas of what it could be? Temps are stable around 25/26 with humidity around 60%. Ill post a picture up later tonight but any help would be appreciated.

this one is a bit unusual, but I was hoping someone might know the plant that smells deliciously like skunk. Every now and then when driving through parts of the South East Queensland countryside where there is thickish rainforest-like growth near a swampy area or near a creek, I get a beautiful smell of skunky goodness. My first experience of this was on the old bruce hwy when going through Nambour. I think you can still smell it, if pulling off to go towards the big pineapple. I know it's a bit random, but I reckon if you lived near an area like this, you could grow the stinkiest strain and no-one would have a clue ... plus it smells great - at least to me.

Could we please have a sub forum for organics? We can talk shop there and not have to sift through the rest of the forums for topics. It would be easier for people to learn about it that way also.

Do you think this will work? i downloaded a picture of a green screen to use on my phone when my grow light is off. In fact is it true or myth that green light doesn't wake your plants? Sent from my SM-G935F using OZ Stoners mobile app

Is anyone else around here keen for a separate Organic forum? Personally I feel and know its the cleanest and most efficient and sustainable way of growing our favorite plant yet we don't have a forum specific to it. I'm not sure how many of you are on other MJ forums such as Grasscity and Rollitup but both of these have Organic forums that are more than active. And even still it gives others a place to put useful stickies and so forth. So I ask the moderators and users, please, we need to promote this healthy sustainable method of growing, so why not get its own forum going? Scraps
