Thought this may be helpful for those who want to come out of the closet Cannabis Consumers Campaign PR Cannazine 9 September 2008 http://pr.cannazine.co.uk/content/view/640/27/ The goal of the Cannabis Consumers Campaign is to create public policy changes by: 1) dispelling the myths and negative stereotypes that perpetuate marijuana prohibition and all its harsh consequences and 2) providing a more positive and accurate image of adults who consume cannabis. By coming out of the closet, we demonstrate to the general public, the media, and our political leaders that pot smokers are good, responsible, contributing members of society who deserve equal status and…

It is time to end the dark ages and turn on a light. The "War on drugs" is a Holy War waged on the peoples of the world by the governments of the world, it is in fact nothing less than the continuation of the witch trials of the inquisition. According to the 1994 report to the Australian Government on Legislative Options For Cannabis. Page3 "Cannabis has been used for many thousands of years. It has been used for the production of material products such as clothing and rope; for its medicinal properties; and for its psychoactive properties. Cannabis was used medicinally in Australia until the mid-1960s (Emphasis added) and is currently used in many parts of the w…

New magistrate once ran for marijuana party MICHAEL BENNETT 11th August 2008, 8:15 WST http://www.thewest.com.au/default.aspx?Men...ContentID=90444 Attorney-General Jim McGinty has defended the appointment of a new magistrate after it emerged yesterday that he had been a candidate for the Australian Marijuana Party at the 1996 State election. Paul Roth, who was appointed by Mr McGinty last week and will be based in Port Hedland, stood as an Upper House AMP candidate for the South-West. Yesterday he confirmed he had been a member of the singleissue party which advocated legalisation of marijuana but said he was no longer connected to the party. “I had a particul…

well I was pretty shocked when i heard about this. Even though I always thought the Iemma was a massive douchebag. Anyway the story goes this Rees fellow, is a self made left wing labour member, who worked as a garbage man before going into politics. Even more interesting is that before that he was a greenskeeper after finishing year 12. He's only 40 years old and is often described as 'street smart'. He seems like a good bloke, when he first joined parliament he was working under the minister for aboriginal affairs. Talk about a strong candidate for a spokesperson for medical pot. I'd be very interested to see his stance on my beloved. any thoughts?

Campaigner’s cannabis call By Laura Kitching Daily Echo, Dorset Echo 12:30pm Friday 5th September 2008 http://www.thisisdorset.net/display.var.24...nnabis_call.php Comment | Read Comments (10) A CAMPAIGNER handed a 5,000-signature petition to 10 Downing Street demanding a re-think on cannabis laws. Jim Starr, 34, from Dorchester, suffers from severe lower back pain and is fighting for the right for medicinal cannabis users to be able to self-medicate without the fear of prosecution. He said: "I'm someone who never ever took chemical drugs before I was in pain from my disability and have been forced to take morphine as I cannot cope with the pain I suffer. "Wit…

“Amnesty” for NSW Police Drugs Users Operation Abelia – Research and investigation into illegal drug use by “some” NSW Police Officers. Police Integrity Commission website <http://www.pic.nsw.gov.au/InvestigationReports.aspx> The report consists of 4 volumes - it’s a lot of reading so I have extracted a few sections from volume 1 of the summary report ... still a lot to read A few things to note: 1.The meaning of Amnesty: “an act of grace on the part of the state which effectively obliterates some wrong doing.” (The CCH Macquarie Dictionary of Law) 2.The word minimise is used consistently throughout the report – not “drug free” or “zero tolerance.” 3…

Attorney general proposes sensible rules on medical pot Sans Franciso Chronicle Thursday, August 28, 2008 http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?.../EDHB12IKBA.DTL The hazy legality of medical marijuana just got a little clearer. Since 1996 when voters approved a measure allowing the humane use of cannabis to ease sickness and pain, California has struggled to come up with an orderly way to supply the weed. Federal law hasn't help as Washington insisted that pot is illegal, plain and simple. And local communities have deployed varying rules to rein in the runaway profusion of loosely watched dispensaries. Neither police nor medical marijuana sponsors are happy wit…

Hey everyone just thought i'd introduce myself and let my thoughts known on this topic of WEEEEED... The thing that bugs me about Marijuana Laws in Australia is that currently they cause growers and smokers to huddle in the corner of society under a mask of smoke "pardon the pun" for instance Let's say, ....Mr Anonymous decides to grow his supply of marijuana rather than buy off the street, therefore reducing crime and saving Mr Anonymous $400 a week on an ounce he smokes occasionally for Chronic Pain and Relaxation.... Or so he tells himself over and over again hoping one day he'll convince even himself.... I can't wait till the day prohibition is lifted and we can a…

Even though this is American, it is still something to be supportive of. It's a parody commercial of the Budweiser frogs (explained below), but its a commercial put out by a pro-marijuana organization that wants to make it known that Alcohol is the real bad drug and marijuana is getting all the blame as being the gateway drug, when it is really alcohol and alcohol leads to agressive behaviour and fights whereas marijuana does not. Here is the commerical http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rlxUuBBJRjI And here is the website for the people that made the commercial, its pretty slick, pass it on to anyone you know that needs some convincing, especially any american friend…

The so-called ‘War on Drugs’ The following is a guest post by Alan Salt, Vice-President of the Hemp Embassy. 10 August 2008 Thoughts on Freedom Australian Libertarian Society Blog http://alsblog.wordpress.com/2008/08/09/th...d-war-on-drugs/ I’m the current Hemp Embassy Vice-President, a drug user of thirty eight years experience, who decided eighteen years ago to limit himself to cannabis and try no more new drugs, ever. I came to Nimbin in 1974 and initially lived as a shareholder at Tuntable Falls on the Co-Ordination Co-Operative, which taught me why we have private property. I also learnt about self-appointed, self-promoting “leaders” who thrust themselves before …

Being a medicinal user myself - the law gives me the shits to no end. If it wasn't for this plant I don't think I'd still be here. I'm glad some pollies aren't total retards.
