Hi folks, I've looked a little and cannot find - mind you, to look through this forum would take MONTHS - even using search! so much here, that's a good thing. Apologies if this has already been done, but: Can people please contribute their own knowledge (not heard it from a friend knowledge) about the legality of Pot worldwide. It may need to be broken into provence/state, and please remember to add a date. There's no good having a post on 2/2/09 when the law you know of is relevant as at 1/1/1990!! This will allow us pot smokers looking for a new home to make considerations. It will allow holidayers to know what they can and cannot get away with in their chosen lo…

Ok, With all the blood, sweat and tears (thankyou Mr Arafat) this country wastes in trying to eliminate intoxicants, whiles allowing the two deadlies to remain legal, I have a question: Why aren't our scientists spending their money DESIGNING new intoxicants. But doing the research to make sure it's safe? There's OBVIOUSLY an enormous fucking market out there. Drugs are not going away. Like prostitution, they will ALWAYS be here. It seems that since the early 1900s, there's been a worldwide prohibition on the introduction of new intoxicants. They can't be hard to make. LSD was stumbled upon by accident for fucks sake. All I'm saying is that surely it's best for E…

Does anyone else know what I'm talking about? You try to talk to someone about medical marijuana & it's benefits, such as that it can cure practically all diseases when ingested such as shown in Run From the Cure by Rick Simpson, & they still try to say that just maybe the fact that it's the most medicinal plant known to man makes it alright but it's still bad if used 'to get high'. I even saw Montel Williams in an interview with Bill O'Reilly say that he supports 'non-medical' users being arrested & imprisoned. Fuck these selfish assholes & idiots. In reality there's no such thing as 'medicinal' & 'recreational' use of cannabis, it's the same fucking …

Why Obama Really Might Decriminalize Marijuana By John H. Richardson 23 December 2008 Esquire http://www.esquire.com/the-side/richardson...lization-122308 Turns out, with several drug-war veterans close to the president-elect's ear, insiders think reform could come in Obama's second term -- or sooner Famously, Franklin Delano Roosevelt saved the United States banking system during the first seven days of his first term. And what did he do on the eighth day? "I think this would be a good time for beer," he said. Congress had already repealed Prohibition, pending ratification from the states. But the people needed a lift, and legalizing beer would create a millio…

Reasononline At around 6pm on January 27 of last year, 80-year-old Isaac Singletary spotted a couple of drug dealers attempting to do business on his front lawn. It wasn’t the first time. Singletary, described by relatives as territorial and a bit crotchety, did what he’d done in the past. He grabbed his gun, and walked out on to his lawn to scare them off. Problem is, this time the men weren’t drug dealers. They were undercover Jacksonville, Florida police posing as drug dealers. They had come on to Singletary’s property to bait possible drug offenders. When he brandished his gun, the police shot Singletary four times, once in the back. He died a short time later. A su…

Cannabis Law Changes Jan 28th 2009 will go down as a dark day in the British drugs debate, as the worlds safest illicit drug is dragged kicking & screaming back into the days of "Reefer Madness", when it is reclassified as a class B drug. This new class B status brings with it the threat of a 5 year prison term just for simple possession, (up from 2 years at class C), and a 14 year prison term for supplying cannabis, (Unchanged from class C), and at face value that all seems fair and square. Lets face it, no one is overly keen on drug dealers. They simply serve a purpose right? Fulfill a community need which the government turned their back on decades ago. But is…

The British Columbia Supreme Court last Friday rejected a challenge to the country's law criminalizing marijuana possession based on deficiencies in Canada's medical marijuana regime. In cases earlier this decade, some Canadian courts had held that because Canada's drug law did not provide for the therapeutic use of cannabis, the law was invalid. But in part because of changes already made to the program, the BC Supreme Court wasn't buying that argument. In response to those earlier rulings, the Canadian government created a limited medical marijuana program, whose utility was challenged in the present case. But Justice Austin Cullen ruled that even if Canada's medical …

What's the current state of play in Canberra? Is it still quite 'liberal'? I.e. can someone grow a plant in the garden for personal use? BTW when should one plant and how long to mature? Just a quick estimation - I know this question is off topic.

Medical marijuana clinic founder defends its legality By Jennie Miller 12 January 2009 C & G News http://www.candgnews.com/Homepage-Articles...ul-Stanford.asp SOUTHFIELD — The state’s first medical marijuana clinic is defending its legality as residents, government officials and law enforcement agencies learn more about the controversial proposal voters approved in November. “I am in the exploratory stages, trying to figure out what is what,” said Southfield Mayor Brenda Lawrence, who had a meeting scheduled for Jan. 12 with the president, founder and CEO of The Hemp and Cannabis Foundation, Paul Stanford. The clinic recently opened up shop in the Southfield Town…
