WHAT SOIL/POTTING MIX BEST TO PURCHASE FOR GROWING WITHIN UNDER LIGHTS? Just starting to get into growing here, but I'm still unsure about exactly what type of potting mix/soil to look for. I live in Perth, Western Australia and i was wondering if any other growers in WA could recommend some tried and proven potting mixes. The ones i've been able to find in K-mart all seem to have timed released ferts which has been causing problems with my first set of plants that I experimented with. Also have been told that soil that is ACIDIC is no good and soil that is alkaline is no good as such am seeking advice on correct soil/potting mix to purchase that preferably have all that i…

After washing and doing a pre soak of 40lts of perlite i ended up with all this perlite dust in the bottom of the bucket. All that stuff will settle to the bottom of what you are growing and can block drainage lines and cause probs. And that dust isent good for your lungs so make sure u cover your mouth and nose before you open up the bag and start playing with it if you have to do inside...

Hi guys I don't know if this is best posted here but I thought you may find this really interesting. I spent some time going through Glows site last nite. http://www.integralhydro.com/plantgrowthregulators.html (He's given ingredients and instructions on mixing PGRs) Wow - what do you think? Who's going to give them a go and let us know how they worked? (I don't use them) He says on the site to feel free to pass the formulas on..... Christ, I think there may be some pissed off manufacturers out there. MR

Over the last 2 weeks i have been doing a trial of rizotonic vs seasol on 4 different plants and have noticed and amazing results! Using the amount of 2mls per litre with nutes i have come to the conclusion that i have been getting RIPPED OFF! All plants are looking extremely healthy. The 2 with the riz on them look good, and the 2 with the seasol on them look good with a very healthy root system on them! The difference: Riz $100 bottle Seasol $8 bottle The trial was on coco run to waste system with a flush every 7 days and using silica as well with ph 6.0. BH PS HGS Ripped me Off!

Hi Guys, Have just germed some Belladonna (Paradise seeds) in some jiffy peat pellets and am preparing a veg medium mix for their first pots. To work with I have: vermiculite, perlite, coir-peat and a yates premium potting mix containing dynamic lifter. I would just like to know your opinions on what would be the best mix for vegging. I am thinking just perlite, vermiculite and coir peat as I know the peat already has some kind of added fertilizer in it. Save the potting mix for final transplant along with the others maybe? Can I get your thoughts. Cheers. =) U.C
