Well here we are it’s finally that time of year again, time to plant some medications. As some of you might not know I have been noticeably absent the last 6 months or so, due to a rather nasty disagreement my bike and I had with a road, unfortunately it was an argument I lost quite badly. Never fear though I am now back to my usual self, just added a few more places that hurt. My daughter believes that at around 60 you start to lose your “bounce” and that motorbikes are for the young. I told her that now that I have found out that I am Delicate (as well as handsome) that I just won’t come off anymore. I’ll just let you imagine the response I got from her. So while unav…

Timer Issues 1 2

Hey peoples, this is my first post so please dont flame me too badly if this is a noob query. I'm running a small setup similar to whats described in the 'So ya bought a tent' tutorial and I'm having issues with the timer that's used to control feeding. I'm using identical digital timers for lighting and watering, but having issues with the water timer copping a bout of amnesia randomly and losing all its settings. The timer controlling the lights never skips a beat, I've got 3 of the same timers and have used them all for both lighting or watering and the same issue occurs with each timer when it controls the watering, but timing is random. For the time being I ju…

Hi all Its been a while. Some may remember me. Im looking at going small in my grows. Ive been growin 1 or twice a year for personal use. 8 to 10oz per harvest on average.ended up with too much for my personal use, My usage is around 10 grams/month - what can i say i enjoy a cone a day. Anyways ive been thinking of growin small scale, around an oz/month. Havent had to pay for meds for 6 years and dont intend to start paying good money for crap meds. I do have hps and MH 250 - 600w, digi ballasts, cool tubes etc but im thinking of going to PLL or LED. Small box, stealth and low maintenance. Has anyone had any success with micro grows? i was thinking sog, perpetual, 12/…

So, it's time to replace my old faithful, she was cheapish but served me well and will hold a special place in my memory, but alas she is a bit clapped out now. Been looking at a few better quality replacements and have a couple in the $300-400 range, but I'm erring towards breaking my budget with this: https://www.homebox.net/en/products/growbox-evolution/evolution-r240/ Usually up around $640ish but there's one on special on ebay for $575 at the moment. Would have preferred 260*130*200 like my old tent, but nobody seems to make them anymore , so size is ok, and I'm very happy with the number, sizes, and locations of ports on this one, material sounds good, as…

Howdy, Would really like to hear others opinions and views on how many lights is too many lights without raising any eyebrows in regards to electricity usage. For example, I'm wanting to run two tents with four 600W HPS lamps in total in a decent sized two bedroom apartment in Melbournetown. Of course, double or quadruple that amount of lights would be far more ideal, but thats just too ballsy. And too expensive. Is a 2400W draw, as well as all the other bits & bobs (we'll round it up to 3000W maximum) like fans and pumps, too much to run for most hours of the day in this day and age of the power smart meter?

Ok so heres the deal. I'm a uni student living in a sharehouse type situation, and also a longtime smoker of weed. I have no experience in growing, but i'm eager to get some. I've seen lots of people on various other websites do stealthy PC growboxes I have a really old PC just laying around, so i took it apart with the thought i could perhaps have a tiny ass grow box. http://s29.postimg.org/gpv2a4g8n/20160409_152002.jpgHere it is with all of its parts. http://s18.postimg.org/9kylg9ltl/20160409_161821.jpg And here it is all emptied out. http://s15.postimg.org/sa7lwccyj/measurements.png This is the general measurement floor plan, of this (hopefully) to-be growbox. …

Hi all, after spending most of summer growing my plants for someone else to really enjoy its got me thinking of using some dead space in my shed for a clone/seedling fridge (maybe the odd seed run or even a small grow). i remember CpT yng (i think it was him) had a fridge set up running but i couldnt find any exact info of it after searching over the last few days. so to the questions: the fridge i have has internal measurements of: 500mmx470mmx 1110mm. i understand that its a small area but would an LED like a mars be better than a bunch of CFL's? i read that that model led needs to be kept 76cm away from the top of the plant so thats going to leave me with 35cm …

whoops i meant Coles I usually use CFL but these Halogen lights seemed too cheap to pass up at about 50c to $1 each on special at coles, I picked up some 23 to 28 watt ones. I also got a couple of extra adapter boards.. I will use a couple of the lights for some house lighting as well. So will these Halogen lights work OK with some CFL's? the mirabella's say 28 watts at 370 lumians and replaces a standard 25 watt bulb. the Coles brand 28 watt bulbs might be inefficient ?

hi, does anyone know where you can buy 2 way light holders for CFL bulbs? That is so I can place 2 X bulbs in each light holder and use less cords. Most of the stuff I read is in USA but trying to find things like this at Bunnings etc is pretty hard.

I'll keep this fairly short and sweet but upload some good pics of it tomorrow if I get time - if not then when I set this bad boy up! The link to the one I got ; http://www.hydroexperts.com.au/~179 Measures 1.5M X 1.5M X 1.8M Made for a roof configuration but using it in an outdoor shed I got the 1.5 meter squared version of this today. Full metal corners and frame - ZERO plastic. Very easy to setup The only reason mine isn't light proof was due to where the zippers meeting up and the covering flaps not covering them ully - simple velcro tabs fix this and then I can say for 100% - standing inside while the tent was in full light on the outside - is was total…

I have just set up my new hydro unit...it is run to recycle at the moment but I may change it to run to waste if I strike any difficulties but so far things have been going fine just keeping an eye on EC and PH.... The beauty of this set up is that I was able to use parts which are easily obtained... The base pond is an off the shelf pond from Bunnings...it fits 8 milk crates perfectly to create a mesh floor.... I have cut the sides out of a couple of the front crates to give access to pumps etc... Over this I run Rocket pots with coco and perlite ...watering is 30 seconds twice per day... I love the rocket pots so much that i am setting up a second room for mothers in r…
