Hey guys, I was thinking of what I could use my old mini mother chamber for. I decided to do an experiment with flouros. I will be vegging under 2 x 18w Phillips cool white CFs & will be flowering under 2 x 48w Nelson Daylight CFs. My footprint is about 40cm square The strain will be Black Domina, waiting for my new mothers to kick along before I can take clones. I will be using GH nutes ( Lucas formula - No dump method ) I will be cutting a hole in the bottom of the chamber so the tub can sit on the concrete, which will give me an extra 12cm headroom & will help keep the tub cool over summer since the max volume of the tub is only 6 litres. So from the to…

I have lately been planning the setup of my custom growbox and I need some guidance and thoughts on this setup. I have an area that is about 55"L-36"H-20"D. I have decided to invest in the son agro 430w setup unless someone changes my mind. I am not yet sure what would be the best hydroponic setup for this area, I am familiar with the different types, but havnt the experience of knowing which best suits my area. The space is up on a shelf and I want to create a locking growbox (with a hidden lock on the top and hinges on the inside so it opens out but no one knows it opens) it will have to be airtight and I will be installing air purifiers because i refuse to do thi…

Hey guys, Having for the last few months keeping mothers in bubblers, I have decided its too much effort, so after some consultation ( thanks WC! :thumbsup ) I am setting up a simpler rig. The new mothers ( 2 x Northern Girl & 2 x Black Domina ) are in 15cm pots. I have put about an inch of clayballs on the bottom, then a 60/40 perlite vermiculite mix, then some clayballs on top. Ive heard horror stories of wet perlite being in contact with rockwool & causing root rot. They are in a frame wrapped in panda, with a door flap ( need to get some velcro to seal door & some flyscreen for the intakes) Anyway heres some pics ( the clone is actually a tomato pla…

Starter Kit I'm looking at starting up, and yes I'm a n00b. Must say, I don't have a green thumb, and usually kill all that I touch, except the weeds that grow in the garden. I know next to nothing about growing, except what I've been reading on about lately. Was wondering if that setup above would be a good way to start, and a few more questions i won't ask about in an open forum.... I'm sure I have and or can get the majority of what is listed in that url, laying around....but I guess the main question I have, is whether that is an ideal growing solution. I wouldn't mind a tutor, or a mentor either Anyways, glad I stumbled across this site (was looking for hy…

Ok, Since I have 2 strain on their way & dont want to grow them together SCROG style, as Ive read some other growers diaries & witnessed the problems of stretch, nute requirements, etc.... Ive decided to make a mother chamber to hold up to 4 strains. I plan on using 2-3 18w cfs, SWC bubbler. Anyway here is a pic of the bedside table that volunteered for active duty!! ::

This has to be the easiest grow cabinet I ever built. Of course, it's one of the most ordinary too then. I happened on two cupboards that were exact sized toone another. Both were all hanging space, no drawers. So I took them home, and removed the light backing from them, and screwed them back to back. Now they simply look like two old wardrobes stored in the garage, probably holdng tools to the passer byer. The internal measurements were a real fluke. It measured exactly 900x900mm. The exact size of an old flood table I had. And not only that, but there was a peice of quad that went across both sides of the wardrobes at exactly the height the flood table should be…

Unfortunately I rent a house, so I have to be able to hide everything every few months. Recently amate gave me an old pantry. So I put an idea to work, a bubbler with 6 pots, using Orange Spice as the strain, apparently able to plant up to 30 odd to the sq. metre. I knocked the plants around a bit, but they'll come good, and already are. In the meantime, just a bit of alook at the new little experiment. cheers rob
