I am planning on building a sectioned stealth grow box for a dirt grow (until I feel like going thorugh all the set up for a hydro, I can always scrap the shell or pass it down ). I was going to mount the fronts of some dresser dwarers on the front and paint it all. I saw a 70W Verticle HPS security light at at the hardware store the other day , I would have to use a grounded spliced cord. Thinking of buying it until Uncle Sam pays be back the money her borrowed last year and I can invest in true lighting. I was planning on building a small flower section for one plant apx 14"x14" (until I have good clones then place 9 in it). A second veg section with shelve…

Hi everyone. Well now my financial situation has improved slightly instead of spending my hard earned cash on some smokey I had an idea. Basically on the top floor of my house there is a loft, with no floor and not a great deal of space... for living in. I don't have a ladder, I'll need to buy one, so to look at it I've been balancing on two stacked bar stools... I don't reccomend this. The attic itself is quite well ventilated by 6 vents (which I could place a darkened material over), and is 4 storeys high. It's also very long, perhaps 22m or so, so over heating is not a problem. The "floor" is about 4m across, but the roof is sloped to a point in the centre as it is…

Hey everyone, hows easter been? Ive been building a seedling nursery out of some old kitchen cupboards and stuff i got lying around most of the weekend (Man,this hobby is time consuming eh!) so far so good. Got a small area -500x500x600H for when they first start- 4x 24w CFL's over a seedling tray/humicrib. Then i plan to put them in larger space 600x600x900H to veg a bit and then sex before going into the flower room. In the meantime i will start some more seeds under the CFL's. i dont have a light for the bigger space and was just looking for some highly valued advice and/or opinions Will 1 or even 2 of the 130w spectrum fluoros be ok for 10 or so small plants …

I like this for the screen but it works well as straight plants. I will try and attatch photo. I take my cuttings when the plant is in bud. Down the bottom you will find small shoots with small buds on them. They are the ones you want. Just cut and spray like normal. Be aware they will take a long time to root (2 1/2 weeks) So good to take a few spare. When they do take, (since it is bud wich is a lot of small branches clumped together) all the shoots come away at the same time. I get up to 8 main stens, i usually only keep 6 and train them into the screen. It makes all your branches the same strenth so no big overpowering main stem. I grow to about 1 1/2 foot and pl…

Hi, I was a huge fan/lurker of OverGrow before they were shut down recently. A while back, I read a guide on how to build a particular aeroponics system. It used several PVC tubes with holes drilled in them for net pots, and pipes running along the sides with sprayers going into said PVC tubes. IIRC, it looked a lot like this, but the guide I read mentioned that the roots of the plants grew into the res. I'm wondering: 1) Is there any special name for this, or is it just a simple Aeroponics system? The OG guide I read mentioned that it "Combined" the pros of Aeroponics and DWC, so I'm not sure. 2) If anybody remembers what particular guide I'm talking about, does anybod…

is it better for a G-room to be insulated or not? in the summer, insulation batts in the roof keep the house cooler by preventing heat coming in from outside (ie the sun). But if the heat source is in the room (ie grow lights) would the insulation batts retain heat in the room? - especially at night where its colder outside than in the room - would it be better if the room wasnt insulated thereby allowing the heat to escape? im contemplating installing insulation cause of the hot summer temps and im not sure if its a good idea.

whats better! in the 'crop box' system (pictured) people have historically used rockwool slabs (either 7.5 or 15 cm deep). after experiencing some root problems - i was told to perhaps try using a whole coco coir bag in instead. its more exp @ 30 v s 20 for the slabs. and you have to be pricise with watering (i.e 400 ml per 4 hrs i think?) - any thoughts on whether the coco woudl be better than the slabs? what advantages does coco have over grodan? i heard it is more susceptible to root rot, pythium and knats than grodan? but ive heard people get bigger yields with it? any thoughts?
