So I saw a nice looking cupboard. Id been thinking about a cupboard project for a while. Being concerned about the bill I have decided to swap out winters heater for an equivalent watt Bulb. The heat off that heats the room. Just set the timer for whenever I expect to be in that room. So I should have a nice warm house with no or little, possibly even a drop in the electricity bill. (we'll see) The ventilation out for the tube and the cupboard space Made of tough stuff Stealth Mess

So you find yourself with a good sized spare room. Got no wife or girlfriend - Check Got no housemates - Check Now this is directed at the more seasoned growers here. But would you turn the room into a grow room, or put a tent in there that would fill up most of the room anyway? People say setting up a tent is easy, yeah it is when you have a little kids tent! Try setting up a 2.4 m X 1.2 X 1.8 or bigger and let me know how u go solo. It can be done, but its not easy. Any way, it is however quite easy to kock a couple pieces of wood together with some screws and make a basic frame so u dont have to destroy your roof with hooks and all sorts of things. So w…

Hi all Just wanted to share my satisfaction so far , just had to tell / show someone, got a bit excited I saw on Gardening Oz a while back, one of the presenters showed a home made shade house using , of cause shade cloth , half a dozen star pickets i think it was & a piece of what i believe is called rio , it's the large square metal mesh that gets laid in cement , its 6 x 2.4m in size so gives you quite a bit of head room when bent to form an arch, three star pickets down each side to secure & the shade cloth over the top. I thought what a great idea & really easy to put together with a second person & pretty cheap to boot. The ri…

I just discovered the Walipini, an underground greenhouse developed 20 years ago in South America to assist farmers in growing crops year-round in colder climates. According to this article (and the linked manual) it only costs US$300 to build one. The concept is simple, obviously a lot of work and labour in the initial set up but they look fantastic. http://media.treehugger.com/assets/images/2013/02/walipini3.jpg.492x0_q85_crop-smart.jpg I'm only new to cannabis cultivation (and gardening for that matter) so I wonder if this kind of thing would be good for growing cannabis during winter months? You could easily add some things like solar powered fans to regulate the …

Hi there, I am just putting together a plan to create a small cupboard grow in my house. The weed is for personal use only and I'd like to give some to friends that enjoy a smoke every now and then. I'm looking for some advice on what to buy and from where. Important points for me: Cupboard - any suggestions on materials, brands, dimensions? What is a good pot setup? Should I use hydroponic? Just normal pots? Drip systems?Lights - must be LED, our power bill is already huge! I was thinking a 200W LED light, is this too much, too little? Budget doesn't really allow for more than that.Light Brand - I've seen this http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-2012-200W-LED-Grow-Light-64p…

OK so I've decided to take advantage of the shed out the back of the house I've recently moved to I've been keeping an eye on the temps in there over the last couple weeks because as anyone who has a tin shed knows these things are basically an oven in summer. Temps inside have been between 26-30 degrees (thanks to being well shaded by palms, got lucky there) even while temps outside have been high 30s to 40s. A trip to the local op shop, a quick stop by bunnings and some enginuity and I've slapped up a little vegbox. She's nothing pretty, but she'll do the job. Dimentions: 600Long x 600wide x 1800high Lighting: x2 Phillips 20w 6500k cfl's (1450 lumen ea) x2 fl…

I am starting to setup a drying cupboard for this years outdoor which I will then use for my first indoor run later this year. Dimensions length - 1280mm Height - 1830mm width - 600mm Looking for advice on filter and fan size as last year I stunk up the neighbourhood and the house which I cant afford to risk doing again. I have read a few threads with similar work space where folks suggest a 150mm centri. I guess my question is: is there any reasons to use that size when by grow room calculator a 100mm centri would be about double the needed airflow? Keeping the filter size as small as possible is also something I am hoping to achieve. In future I would be looking…

Hey Guys, I have been looking into starting my first grow and have been doing a little bit of studying over the last few months I know there are thousands of similar threads around here on the internet (IM SORRY!) but I have a few clarifying questions that I would like just to confirm my information is correct and up to date, and I am on the right path and my setup would work and if not a little help on things to read about to help me better understand these things. Over the last few weeks I have changed my mind on my setup im going to use about 4 times due to a change of mind on what sort of grow I would like to start. Which is now a perpetual harvest type grow, …
