Hi all, just had a quick question regarding the probably of male/female plants. Everywhere i read it says it's a 50/50 which obviously makes perfect sense, however every single plant i've grown has been female. I've only grown a grand total of 10 but it seems like there are more forces at play than 50/50. Is it possible the genetic predispositions of the plants are changing due to breeding practices? I don't know but it seems strange that i'm yet to be unfortunate enough to get a male plant. Perhaps i'm just lucky.

I've been trying to grow in coco and so far and I am struggling to understand its worth. I have found that with 2 pots of identical size one with soil (potting mix n worm castings) the other with Pure coco and coco specific nutrients that the soil grown plant is a much stronger looking healthier plant and the coco version is very stemmy/elongated and not very bushy etc. The coco versions grow about 20% faster, however they pack out the pots (almost root bound) they are growing in very quickly and you need to upgrade to a bigger pot. I am thinking that you need to have very large pots (atleast 50 liter +) to get a good yeild from coco as the roots just go crazy …

Do people here regen? Leave a few small buds and leaves on there plants after harvest and switch back to veg apparently you can do it 3 or 4 times on the one plant Has any one had good results with this or failures?? I am going to try it with some NL and see how it goes

the girls are going gang busters ive already cut the roof out of the cuboard so i can raise the light the problem is the below half of the plant is getting bugger all light is it worth trimming or would that stress the girls out to much the cuboard is 1.5m x .6 with 2 plants 600w hps

Is there a guide or something somewhere to help grow male plants? I had a search but my brain is a bit off at the moment I want to grow a couple to get enough seeds to not have to order any for some time. Would 1 male plant net you a few seeds or would it be better to have a couple of plants? Cheers!

G'day again guys/girls. I have been flowering for 6 and a bit weeks and have some questions. I know that some strains take forever to fully bloom, but I have made my own strains over the past few years and have grown my sativa strain outdoors with pretty good success, this year I brought it indoors to go next to my indica's and am a bit surprised with how much longer it has taken to get to ready. Outside it took about 8.5 weeks and was really chunky, indoors it looks like about 10 weeks. I was just wondering how long you guys have stuck with a strain to fully bloom. I just have a question. How long could it take for the cops to raid a grower if they were tipped of by a squealer who bargained for a lighter sentence. Could they leave it for a year or so in order to make it look unrelated to the dog or would they nip it in the bud before things change? Thanks A friend of mine is a little paranoid.

Hi fellow smokers i have been lurking on this site for about 3 weeks trying to soak up as much information as i can and now i would like to ask some opinions on my first grow, would love some feedback or any information possible so i can cut out as many mistakes as possible.Ok so im trying to get some plants going and i am experimenting with 2 different grow mediums, i currently have 4, 1 month old plants sprouted from bag seeds from some awesome chronic that i smoked, they are set up in an average sized cupboard under 2x 42watt 6500k cfls 2x 18watt 4200k cfls and 2 x 10 watt 2700k cfls. Residents of NSW will face increases in their electricity bills by 20%(21% in some cases). With this in mind I have a few questions.... 1) Digital Ballasts- If you believe the literature produced by the makers of these products they claim of up to 20% decrease in power usage. For those who use these products are these claims true? 2)LCD grow lights- Producers of these products claim anywhere btw 20-75% reduction in power consumption. I am yet to come across anyone on this forum who has had any success with this type of lighting. If there is how about some feedback. 3) Will the cost of cannabis increase in line with the power bills?

Hey guys I am new around here, have been browsing these forums for a couple of days and thought it might be nice to start my own topic! I had a homemade growbox before with 250watt mh and hps(flowering)lights.The soil i had was potting mix which i noticed drains really well but the soil dried out too quickly also the plants took ages to get tall enough to flower.What is the best soil or soil mix for me to use in a growbox as i cant use garden soil as i live near the ocean and everywhere where i live is sand.

Well you know how the regular leaves on a plant generally only get 3-5 leafers... well one i was growing a while back had upto 13 individual points per leaf it was crazy... dows anyone know why this may have happened ? do certain strains produce more or less of what ?
