this is my first attempt in horticulture i made a box whit 1m x 1.2m x 0.6m, this will be the home for 2 plants, i want to drill some holes to put 120mm pc fans, from what i read i need around 200-250 cmf, one simgle fan have around 50 cmf, what is the suggestion about the number of the intake and the exhaust for the box and also how do i possition them. My second quistion is relatet about the nutrient, for the vegetating period what is the optimum ration of NPK (20-20-20 it is ok? at the moment the are about 10 cm high ) sorry for my stupid questions and my english.

Hello, Firstly I've never grown a plant before so I don't even know where to start. Before I buy anything (seeds, soil etc) I want to be confident I have a fair idea on what I'm doing. Few points - I live in SE QLD, temps are a pretty consistent 30 degrees now and the rainy season has begun. I'm assuming it's too late to grow anything and I should wait to around September right? I want to grow outdoors. Not where I live though, in some bushland somewhere near where I live. I have an outdoors feminised skunk, why would it be flowering at this time of year outdoors? Its less than a foot tall and was planted in september. it just seems strange to me that it is showing flowers given we have days longer than 12 hours now. any suggestions?

almost all would agree that the optimum kelvins (as far as cfl's are concerned) for your veg cycle is 6400k or 6500k and 2700k for your flower cycle. but of late ive notice 14000k veg cfl's on the market... are they better? are they too strong? have you used them? can someone bring me up to date?

Hey, i was a bit bored so i thought id post my aquaponics build.. Im building an aquaponics set-up which is growing veggies and table fish symbiotically. Ebb and flow using two kiddy pool clams for grow beds (Dora Explorer brand works best ) filled with river pebbles. 2 types of bacteria colonise the pebbles and break down the high ammonia fish crap into nitrites then inrto nitates which the plants then use to flourish.. ok, 1 of my plants had purpleing stems, i checked ph and its at ph 6.5ish... i just have one of them moisture/soil ph testers, ya stick it in soil and allow 5-10 mins to calibrate, then it shows the correct reading. i took multiple readings in different spots throughout the patch. they all showed similar readings. now my guess is that its not a ph problem. its just a Mg deficiency ? ive given it a small dose of epsom salts and a foilar spray too. plants are in the ground. 11 in the patch. There is only 1 plants showning signs of the deficiency. thansk

Hi All, I'm a first time indoor grower and recently aquired a grow cabinet. All the wiring is professionally done, and there aren't any lights touching wood or plastic or anything like that. I'm super paranoid about fires though. At the moment i've got my lights set up so that they're off whilst i'm at work. But trying to sleep is a problem, as the extraction fan in the grow cabinet is damn noisy. Am i being paranoid? Seriously has anyone had issues with fires/heat in their cabinets? And if so, what are the signs to look out for and what steps do you take to avoid things like this. Regards,

ok a few plants outdoors are very quickly showing signs of a mg deficiency.. just wondering what ratio of epsom salts to how many litres of water ? usually i just do 1 teaspoon per 9L watering can. What ratio should i use for foiler feeding aswell ? one of the plants is VERY quickly getting worse. Never seen a plant show signs of a magnesium sulfate deficiency so quickly. i have given them a small foiler feed with epsom salts. thanks

I've found I can never find anything I'm looking for via the search function on most forums without having to wade through 20 pages of posts only to find one highlighted search term amongst each post. Well i am looking at revegging my LUI, and pollenating it for a seed run. A few questions...does revegging effect the strength of the smoko ?? furthermore would it adversly alter the strength of the seeds produced? because it was a beautiful plant grew perfectly and i would like to keep it going yet i didnt clone i am working on getting some pollen to pollenate with and just wondered if anyone had experimented with revegging for a seed run.
