Pink Floyd just amaze me more and more, just listening (first time) to their album The Wall, and another brick in the wall part 1 came on. i just can't believe how skilled they are, they said so much, while saying so little, check it out:
PINK FLOYD LYRICS
"Another Brick In The Wall (Part I)"
Daddy's flown across the ocean
Leaving just a memory
A snap shot in the family album
Daddy what else did you leave for me
Daddy what d'ya leave behind for me
All in all it was all just a brick in the wall
All in all it was all just bricks in the wall
Amazing stuff, it was funny coz in was just thinking about legacy and talking to someone about the afterlife, and yeah, sort of captured everything i'd thought/said in only 7 lines, beautfiul song.
And here comes Part II...

fuck yeah man, floyd rule.
dark side of the moon etc. are great albums, but if you want real pink floyd, do yourselves a favour and go buy "piper at the gates of dawn". Best floyd album ever

The Floyd are genius i agree and personally i think Dark Side is the best Piper comes close though.
But i dont think only one member of the group is a genius sadly some of you people out there always target a specific one member of a group and make him the genius.
If you know anything about the band theyre all genius.
It's kinda sad that Syd Barret went crazy though...
Goddamn Acid. :smoke
The coolest thing ive ever heard them say is:
All you touch and all you see is all your life will ever be.

Ummagumma is my fav album aswell.
A few years ago my ex gave me a pink floyd vynal box set
There is noting more trippy than throwing on some ummagumma and trippin out to furry animals grooving with a pict.
Speaking of floyd...
Did any one catch the Live 8 reunion?
Fucking awesome..

Yup. Prolly the only thing I'll remember live 8 for will be the Floyd. I wept. I became a fan in 1985 laid out in the back of a purple HQ tripping away to The Wall. I never thought I'd see the four of 'em together on stage. Only took 20 years. More please! Anyone still hanging out for a brand new album?

Ah Pink Floyd :thumbsup
To the topic, i found The Wall is mostly filler only 3-4 good songs and some other alright songs. I'd rather blaze to Dark Side... or any of their early stuff

The wall wasnt meant to me an album of chart topping hits.
It was meant to be a story.
After all, it is one of the greatest concept albums ever made.
Instead of listening to the cd as a bunch of songs, listen to it as a story.

Ummagumma (1969) is just sooo blissful to take a toke with…trippy as all get up. Doesn't matter if it's either the studio or live albums, both good. But I do like Pink Floyd in general, very exploratory with their sounds.

Ok .. what about the soundtrack to the movie .. think it was La Valle (french accent) .. Obscured by Clouds ? thats another classic (I got that on vinyl too

Pink Floyd are just flat out the bomb. They definately lost their lustre after Roger Waters left imho. But I still like their material afterwards.
And as has been said, the wall is not a collection of songs. It's a single, giant story.

Sorry if i didnt make myself clear, what im ment to say is
The Wall is a great album BUT its one of those albums that you have to listen from start to finish (which is how all floyd albums should be played).
But i would prefer to listen to other floyd then the wall.

Yeah man. Pink floyd are incredible.
I've got a really cool live set I found on the internet. 'Swedish Neurotica' is Roger Walters playing a bunch of floyd songs. It's got Eric Clapton on keyboards. It's awesome

What an amazing plant!
What an amazing band!
Pink Floyd hasn't let me down yet.
Dark Side of the moon
Piper at the gates of dawn
Obscured by clouds
Atom Heart Mother
The Wall
Wish You were here
Sid Barrett, what a frontman. And it's amazing how Pink Floyd still managed to go on after his departure and still produce great music, with a totally different style. I'm very impressed with that!! A rare breed of musicians.
But I haven't heard '69 album yet. Oooh I'm hungry now. JBHIFI here I come...
