Hi everyone, just thought I'd point out a link I found by listening to the radio... there is a use for that amazingly old fashioned technology... tongue.gif

Check out www.grc.com and click on Sheilds Up. You can have your computer thoroughly checked for any vulnerability, and then enhance your own protection from both spyware and other nasties through this method.

There is no protection aside from your own really, so it pays to see how good your firewalls and other security methods are working. smile.gif

Hope this helps, and if anyone knows any other similar links then feel free to post em here as well.. peace.gif

Flopeye Grc is who tech Tv used to " support " the owner simply stopped giving tech tv kick backs hence someone else takign place ,

you will find most of the editors and webmasters over at Tech Tv are sevierly motivated buy kickbacks and "promotional gifts " particularly shows like screensaver ect

The Guy who runs GRC has an impecable reputation in the security scene with both his tools and applications

Yup, if you've got a good free firewall, (like zone alarm or Kerio Personal Firewall) and you maintain good computer security, you can be effectively invisible. Doesn't mean you shouldn't be careful about where you visit online and what downloads you make, but at least you're protected from the unsolicited attack through your ports.

Glad to have helped Ross. smile.gif

yeah don't let this test let any of you think your safe it just means your not giving out vital information to each and every webpage you vist however somethign allto of peopel overlook is the fact that when using a proxy server you also store passwords and other small amoutns of data so it is important to find a trustworthy porxy above all things otherwise passwords to things like your netbank account or less importantly things liek email acocunts ect are at a potential serious risk
