I rarely listen to them but they are a classic oldschool rap group .. One of the first I beleive and was inspiration for Dr Dre/NWA etc ...

As for Rap and Hip-Hop .. well I really enjoy most of the Australian artists and groups ..
and I'm sure the majority of them are influenced by the good herb as It comes thru In their songs .. So It's an easy level to be on for a fellow Aussie Stoner
But I still don't mind a bit Of Cypress .. or If i wanna get really mad then maybe some NWA or Some Eminem or something that like that ...

If I wanna get really Hyped and I'm Drinkin up aswell I like a bit of Tha Alkoholiks (or Tha Liks) ...
Or If I want to trip out a bit more , maybe some Dr Octagon would be on the list ...
A Bit of Jurassic 5 or maybe Spearhead or somethin like that for somethin a bit more mellow ...

imo some forms of rap fall into the hip hop categorie
but lets not get this confused with the R+B type shit that alot of peoples sadly pidgeon hole to the hip hop category
just to get things clear groups like boys 2 men etc are R+b
lets not confuse this
so hip hop is a basic sub culture that comporises of 4 main elements of expression
these are as follows
1 the DJ expression threw exploration of the turn tables and drum machines etc
2 the Rap expression threw fluent vocals that are usaually broadcast by a microphone
3 the Dance expression threw breakdance, poppin lockin, a style of dance
4 the Art expression threw art, themed murals mainly with spray cans as medium

now rap has been dated way back to tribal chants etc
i suppose im sayin i have always been pashionate bout me hip hop

I used to be down with rap, first got into dre and snoop and their peoples. But i gotta admit ive lost faith in rap, theres so much crap commercial stuff and the whole gangsta thing doesnt really do it for me anymore. That said 2001 is the best rap album ever.

But at the moment im loving nas' new single and lupe fiasco is quality. Aussie hip hop has come along alot and im liking a lot of that.

Anyone else here craving the next J5 album???

Maybe I'm just moodier than the average stoned Joe .. But I tend to like and dislike most of the music I listen to .. way more so since I expanded my tastes and collection ..
So sometimes , I really get into Rap/Hip Hop .. and sometimes I listen to it and can't help but think how average it is ..
I don't consider myself moody , but I think it depends on my "mindset" at the time ..
Nevertheless , All music will continue to interest me .. Including Rap ...
And being part of the whole alternative culture revolution ofc I'm going to always recognise it as an important element .. I prefer it to Doof music anyhow

I've listed most of the groups/artists i enjoy in this category ..
I'll just make a point of Eminem for now .. This guy has been a revolutionary to the art (love im or hate im) .. nearly all modern raps/Hip hop have some sort of influence based on his style .. A very intelligent person Imho .. I may rarely feel like puttin on his albums these days .. but I also know that if I do that I will get into it
But there is so much on the market these days that it all kinda becomes same-ish .. theres only so much I can listen to common rhyming words bein said over and over again .. I beleive all rappers have to step it up a notch .. like the top100 have to against Mr. Roger Federer ..
