SiR-SmOkE-A-LoT
- Super Troopers (first 10-15 minutes is fucking hilarious)
- Ali G Indahouse
- Dude, Where's My Car?
- How High
- Cheech & Chong's 'Up In Smoke'
- Half Baked
- Me, Myself & Irene

As u can see these are all comedies, but nothing's better than laughing your ass off when your stoned biggrin.gif
pipeman
Me Myself & Irene was pretty funny - I lmao in that scene where he was trying to kill the cow

Personally i always seem to fall asleep if I try to watch a movie stoned.
BlackBeauty
I have a similar experience to you pipeman. Well, that's my reason for always being stocked up with lots of sugar-ridden junk food like chocolate and snakes tongue.gif tongue.gif
Dr Doug
How can you not include "Fear and loathing in Las Vegas" or "Howard Sterns Private Parts" If you think "Me Myself and Irene" is funny youll love Howie.
pipeman
yeah Howard Stern's movie was pretty hilarious. Haven't seen the las vagas movie, but from the reviews its got here i'll look out for it
Dr Doug
Its got Johnny Depp in it. Apparently not everything was a prop. The book supposed to be good too.
nickthecheese
Oh! Oh!

*insert 2 buckets here*
phew.
Yes, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is an excellent movie. The book is apprently better, but I haven't read it yet.

I also enjoy the directing works of Darren Aronofsky, responsible for 2 of my all time favourite movies:

Requiem for a Dream and Pi.

More serious watching, but enjoyable none the less... biggrin.gif

All time best movie to toke to would have to be "Hercules Returns" starring David Argue, Bruce Spence and Mary Coustas. For those of you who haven't seen it here is how the spiel goes.....
"Three film entrepreneurs open an old cinema with a classic B grade film, "Hercules". On opening night they discover the film isn't just crappy- it's in Italian with no subtitiles! Facing the worst flop in cinematic history, they do the only thing possible:dub the voices and the sound effects themselves. There in the projection booth, life in Ancient Greece is transformed into a new, hip and happening place called Climidia. Hercules is a pumped up cabaret singer with a tighter tunic than Tom Jones; Labia is the town chariot looking for a roll on the marble, Testiculi is the biggest thing on two ----, Machismo likes to enter the Coliesum up the back passage and Samson looks like a condom full of walnuts!"
Very very funny.....go out and get it.
"Cleopatra and the Casino of Gold" is a bit of a hoot as well for those that love their vintage blaxploitation films.
None of these films have references to MJ, but if you pay her a visit before viewing you will not be disappointed! biggrin.gif

Here's a few I haven't seen posted yet that are a must...

- Joe Dirt (or "Joe Dirte" - I just laughed until I cried)
- Being John Malkovich ("Malkovich, Malkovich. Malkovich. Malkovich Malkovich." - what a spinout. I liked it so much I read the screenplay which can be accessed at http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Lot/916...nmalkovich.html )
- Naked Lunch (I think came out in 1994 and is of course based on the book by William S Burroughs. A long film but great. Injecting bug powder dust and Mugwamp jism all the way.)

BlackBeauty
yes i loved Joe Dirt!!! was pretty stoned when i saw it too at the cinemas and was having a ball stuffing my face with popcorn and choking on it blink.gif

and yes, naked lunch i have yet to see, but it comes highly recommended from of course, yourself!

whoa!.... what can I say..... I just finished watching the most strangest movie and trippiest movie....called "ALTERED STATES"? I brought this DVD other day from a shop for only $10. It's made in 1980 and its got William Hurt in it (the actor from the mocie called Children of the Lessor God)..... very strange movie I dunno what to say, I was pretty hungover and stoned.

Its about this wacko who is the "subject" himself doing experiments using senory deprivation with add of powerful hallucinogenic drugs from Mexico and explores these "altered states" which mades his tempory madness a blessing to him.... ohmy.gif fucking strange movie for those interested in wacko themed movies, which of course, I am a big fan of these kind of movies rolleyes.gif

Check out if ya interested....

hey urby...have you read "the doors of perception" by aldous huxley...huxley relates his experiences with the ancient mexican drug, mescalin...sounds like the same kinda thing, though not as full on....might have to check it out....

"if the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would apear to man as it is...infinite"
william blake
Urbanhog
Bacchus - Nope I havent read the book, but I keep telling myself to read the book, been hearing a lot about aldous huxley's and Tim Leary Books, but never got my arse off and read it.

Think kinda the same way, but with not mescaline, using a brew of magic shrooms and other shamanic herbs, bit similar to the Indian's Aya's brew.

Very trippy, might be hard to find, since its from 1980 if you are looking to rent.

Cheers,

Urbanhog OS Image
bacchus
thanks urb....

if you are interested in reading the doors of perception, you can always find a good second hand copy of it at archive books in bris city, on charlotte st...good selection of books by huxley, leary, burroughs etc...books that a lot of second hand bookshops won't carry.... wink.gif
Urbanhog

thanks for the tip urb, I'll check it out.

just gotta see if I can find a place that sells DVD's for $10 rolleyes.gif
Urbanhog
There's fair places in Brisbane selling off cheap DVD, JB Hi Fi (I think I mentioned it to you other day pipe wink.gif ) have got heaps of DVD's for cheap prices from $5.00 - $20.00 for old movies, got the Altered States from that music shop, Sanity, and also BlockBusters and Video Ezy are currently selling cheap ex-rentals at the moment.

I think you will find this movie bit odd, yet interesting, but might bore some people.

cheers,

Thanks Urbie! I must check out my local JB Hi Fi....I haven't stepped into a music store for years ph34r.gif

There is no point in reading the book 'Fear and Loathing in las vegas, its very much the same as the movie.
Has anyone read 'The Teachings of Don Juan, A yaqui way of knowledge' by Carlos Castaneda?? Great book.
And a foreign movie called 'Holy Mountain' its on SBS all the time. Trippiest movie ever. Theres a scene where they make jesus take a shit in a jar, and they take the jar and boil it and all the smoke goes into this bigger jar that jesus is in, and jesus is spewing and sweating from the smell and they collect all his spew and sweat in this other jar.
If anyone knows about were I could get a DVD of this movie please tell me?

i don't know whether it's not worth reading the book....you are right white cluster in saying that the film is very true to the book, but i think that you can miss out a lot of stuff by not reading it...the language of hunter s. thompson can be really appreciated in the book....the book also allows you to make your own interpretation and allows your mind to bring the story to life....johnny depp did portray thompson very well though, he even wore some of thompson's clothes in the film...

yep that's the one urb....i used to get sucked into a time vortex in there....could spend hours in there....excellent..excellent shop....unfortunately they reduced the size a bit....but i still think they are one of the best 2nd hand bookshops in the city, and i do miss not being able to pop in there...bit pricey but can be justified in some instances when you have been looking for a book that is out of print or is hard to find and they can do a national search for you if they don't have something you want...
stoner-bear
Hell yes Hell yes Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is the coolest movie, i hired it out like half a year ago and havent returned it yet it is sooooo gooooood, i cant wait till i find it on dvd HIRE IT OUT YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!! hehehe im pissing myself laughing right now just from thinking bout it!! :laugh.gif: :laugh.gif: :laugh.gif:
Mr Putard
have you seen the special edition of PLATOON?? willem dafoe describes the session they had on set and the camp they went to prepare - its pretty phukin hilarous too... just real MACHO stuff uno???
