Firstly does everyone else get this pop-up when they head to www.ozstonerz.cjb.net ??




The reason I ask is that I seem to have somehow managed to get a homepage hijacker stuck on my PC somewhere and I can't get rid of the bastard.

I've tried to get rid of it with Spybot, AdAware, Bazooka, Window Washer, all with no avail. This bastard of a thing seems to periodically hijack my homepage to Searchwww, and with it come some annoying popup adverts.

After doing a little digging I came across this http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/SearchWWW.html and now I'm wondering if the homepage hijacker has something to do with the cjb network and or the pop-up upon entering.

As you may have gathered from this post so far I'm not a real whiz with computers but manage to sort out most problems I encounter but not this one.

Anyone have the same thing happening?? Any IT guru's in the house who might be able to help get rid of this little bug??

first of all, install ZoneAlarm, and first run AdAware and Spybot Search and Destroy. That will clean most of it. a search on your computer for free cjb.net will maybe reveil some files, delete them all. Next if you have installed ZoneAlarm, go to "Program Control" and delete any program from access the net that you don't recognise as one of your running programs.

Seems as if the cause of my problems was the cjb.net redirection to ozstoners.com ... I bookmarked Ozstoners a while ago and it must have been ozstoners.cjb.net at the time. So everytime I logged in it would redirect to ozstoners.com and I would get that annoying pop up and the homepage hijacker as well. Since changing my the bookmark (fave) to ozstoners.com and then rerunning all the cleaning programs (Adaware, spybot, etc .. ) no more probs ... woo hoo

Good to hear mate... not too sure what the cjb.net ozstoners redirect is actually, I think I came across it a while back and just ignored it... but still, I'd love to know why there are two site addies... Any of the elder mods know?

I find manual removal often works best for spywre after running apps like adaware ofcourse. usually symantec has a manual removal guide for the well known ones otherwise use google
