I didn't mind them urisukidojo movies where the monsters rape the girls and shit. and Ninja Scroll, Ghost in the shell where good, akira not my cup of tea, most others I seen I got bored with them.

Although its not anime, for a good "live action" jappa movie, check out "the ebola syndrome", fucking hilarious but not for the squeamish. One of the most extreme movies ever made.

i grew up with speed racer. although not a cartoon, i really enjoy the Lone wolf with cub series. god he's a weapon that dude!

I found Princess Mononoke too long by half (easily) but Spirited Away (his latest) is more accessible and more fun generally.. Miyazaki rules .. anyone seen Laputa? Saw it once ten years ago and never since .. wonder of it's out on DVD?

Man i loveeeeeeeeee anime..i bought like 15 manga books while i was in america and i brought back the whole gundam seed series on cd and the whole Star Ocean collection on cd. Not to mention i get DNAngel and Love Hina on cd this week..i loveeee anime i wish i could download all the Eps but i cant get Broadband where i live..and the only other way is importing which is way too expensieve =(

I haven't really been into it for that long, but I really enjoy "cyberpunk" [right terminology?] style anime...those with futuristic/technocratic themes...such as Ghost in the Shell [movies and Stand Alone Complex], Neon, Akira, Serial Experiments Lain etc. - those are some of the ones I've discovered so far, I'll order some more when I have money.

Lots of great ones already mentioned so should try to step ahead. Tri-gun rocks, very weird morality going on. I'd also recomend everyone to try (emphasis on "try") watching "Dead Leaves." It's onlt 40mins long or somehting, but they've managed to fit all the plot libes and action of a full feature. After watching it your entire world will have slowed down.... Watch it twice and you might strart understanding what the characters are saying.

My favourite Studio Ghibli movie - Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (made in 1984 I think)

Naruto is my favourite anime series (150 episodes to date + movie and specials)

Bleach is another good one.

Anime is awesome to watch when stoned. Anyone remember "Techno Man" from cheese TV that was a sweet anime! I only found it on DVD the other day, but its only really available with english subs, its called "Tekkaman Blade" by the japanese, if anyone wants to find it on bit torrent.

Yes , Ninja Scroll has always been my Fave , closely followed by the original Fist Of The North Star.

I haven't been keeping up lately (Tho I can now I have the Internet) so I don't know many new ones.
It'll be good to get the recommendations from fellow fans.

Bible Black is interesting, the US imported version is a bit cut and mostly demonic porn. If you can get the Jap version it is much better.

Non Anime Faves: Fearless, New Police Story, Ang Bak, Kung Fu Hustle was a bit insane but very good, Seven Swords is also a must see!

TBH I didn't read the thread but I'm gonna assume these haven't been mentioned because they're kinda new.

FLCL which is a series that kicks ass and also a movie called Dead Leaves which I'd compare to crank because it's totally intense the whole way through and never slows down. I can't recommend these 2 enough.
