putards porn sites has rotted my PC.

almost every link I click gives me porn instead of what I want. Its not good porn either.

I run adaware all the time it dont help. downloaded some history killing program and that didn't work either.

any ideas???
pipeman
try downloading the free version of zone alarm. That worked for me.

I never trusted that putard porn thing, I never used it.

If all else fails save important data, format hard drive and reload everything. Your computer will run 100% better after you do this anyway.

Have you deleated temps cookies an Get into your regedit
after deleatin it should help
if you dont know much about regedit dont atempt to fuck with self , get someone with some pc knolage you trust to help
Tom
Have you tried Spybot? Basically though you would be better off formatting and then staying away from those sites, they are full of spyware and other malicious crap, that’s how they make their money.
weekprik
adaware, Spybot, Zone alarm and a good antivirus should take care of all that,
I trried the links and they wouldnt work for me, lucky I spose.

Oh also instead of reformatting just try reinstalling all windows again, and overwrite all previous files (if asked),

first thing-
DO NOT re-install windows without formatting your hard drive first. All you'll do is waste time and end up re-infected anyway. And do not fuck with your registery unless you know what u r doin', or you might fuck everything! Sounds like it's just annoying spyware. Trojan - like applications that are installed when you download freebies normally. So just pick up one of them spybot programs, should do the trick. There's a few nasties around at the mo, so be a little more cautious with your downloads and shit.
If you want to check your registery, search around nav or mcaffee's website. They normally give instructions on manual removal. Most common places are:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\run
Also check run once, although that's unusual. Look for anything outta place, and make sure you check all the way across the page. Strange things, like with @ tacked on or shit like that. Good luck wacko.gif

You can do an online scan of your pc here,
Spybot Search and Destroy is a very good free software to detect and destroy all kinds of spyware and the free AVG anti virus is able to get those trojans and other virusses out of your system.

Sorry but your wrong, all re-installing windows without formatting does is makes sure the whole windows files are complete as some trojans and virus like to change system files to try and fuck your computer.
Yes it wont fix them, it just help you to get rid of them.

Its not the end of it, doing that but does usually help to get rid of the nasties, especially if you cant find them on your HD.

Sorry WP but I have to agree with chev81, with some viruses you also need to flush the BIOS as well.

yea but what happens sometimnes well for my computer anyways, I get a trojan or whatever and then I use my other programs to delete it, however if it has attatched itself to a system file when you delete the virus or whatever, you would have problems unless windows has all its system files in one piece,
How do You get all your system files again? reinstall windows.

I dont mean that it gets rid of any threats as it doesnt, all it does is repairs the damage that the virus caused. But unless you use an AV or trojan program it will stay rooted, or it will just reinfect itself,
so stage 1- Get rid of the pest with your AV or whatever,
2- reinstall windows,
3- recheck for nasties.

Half the time its still a waste of time reinstallin after a trojen. back up your files, but then you dont know you could of infected everythin.
one i had a virus an well i thought it was gone copyed all my shit to cd An Bang it was on the fucken cd... anyway i think if you got a bad enoughf virus (which i doubt is what u got dude) cut your losses get your cd's ready an format..
weekprik
the last virus I had it forced me to reformat, Does anyone know how to take a copy of my links under favourites??

Sorry computers are not my thing, ;(
I was just told and shown what reinstalling does, I never thought it actually would do as much as it does.
Babybear
what OS u have wp?
Tom
Just copy your favourites folder to a floppy/CD/partition and then copy it back after you have formatted and re-installed Windows, in Win'98/95 it is found in the Windows folder, in XP it is in the Documents and Settings/[your log in] folder.

ohmy.gif sounds like your average browser hi-jacking to me...if youve got ad-aware/pest patrol, update em and run em. spy-bot is another good one, it gets stuff that aa doesnt and vice-versa. i got hijacked once...lop.com, couldnt get rid of it, any searches, any at all just come up with porn/gambling/money lenders and i thought id fair dinkum got some virus that couldnt be fucken sorted. i knew jack shit back then...and thats only last august!!! :laugh.gif: i learnt this shit the same way pipeman learnt to grow...BTW hows the tijuana doin?

Mulcontent
no probs guys , thoe spammers have all sorts of tricks these days i.e running maliciuos scripts under jpegs ( pictures ) and worse
As a rule for porn sites - i f you dont find any pix within 3 pages the get outta there , as soon as you see Join Here or Members Area bail out cos theres no free shit
The worse ones are the diallers that make you ring mexico - keep your modem sounds on and if you hear it dailling up stop the fucker - it cost my mate 90 bux once ! for 15 minutes
re: pipe yeh zonealarm stops pop ups - i use it and its saved my ass lots
