I was in overgrow recently and saw this link for this program...so I checked it out and then checked out what it cost...130$ USA for a lifetime license....

SO i figured Id check it out and see if it was worth the money given it promises to erase data most programs including internet washer leave behind...and can also secure your data against police searching this information to track where oyu have been etc...

So I downloaded it...and clicked a couple of parts of the prog which I shouldnt have but it basically scanned my hdd and removed all the old backed up crap...pictures, registry files etc...this was the intense scan option...there is a quick one which takes loads less time and I tried this as well...works very well....so now Im deleting my older progs for this new one with all the bells and whistles.....

Yeh its worth it...

hey windows comes with an awesome evidence eliminator already,
all u got to do is make a windows backup floppy, then turn your computer off, install the floppy to the drive and then restart the computer, when the prompt comes up select to load with cd rom,
then type Format C:
and click yes to confirm, then it will totally clean all info off your hard drive, now just install your windows program, BUT you will also LOOSE EVERYTHING off your hard drive, so will have to reinstall anything you use.

depends on how paranoid you are, really.
I plan to format my Hard drive just before the techie comes to install cable internet for me.

wp read what evidence eliminator is laugh.gif or u just been a smart ass

I had the telstra guy come out to fix a problem with my cable and forgot I had the SPC cd still in my computer. rolleyes.gif

As long as you delete internet history, temp files, cookies, and hide any sus files in directories where they're not likely to look, you'll be fine.

If your ISP wanted to bust you for illegal activity on the net they could easily do it without coming to your home. wink.gif

Or u can try - a trial version (ahem) from kazaa lite.....(ahem)

Youll be amazed the shit this prog gets rid of...

Simply manually deleting information is time consuming and does not get to these hidden files which windows has...thats how police can check your pc and find stuff you think you have deleted....

Always try with mj pics if they are your own to label them as internet downloads or something like that....

Its a little more advanced than most progs....ie it will do a complete scandisk on your pc and reorganize your data in your favourites etc....

Ad aware is a spy prog deleter.....eveidence elimintaor is a different sort of prog...like windows washer...but way more advanced...

Hope this helps

even when files have been deleted or a hdd has been reformatted you can still often recover data if determined.
Deleting a file does not actually delete the data - it simply removes the links / address to the data hence you cannot access it - the data is still on the hdd until that particular space on the hdd has been overwritten.
Having said that it is hard to recover from a reformatted hdd but not impossible.

Evidence Eliminator can leave you with hard drive errors and it doesn't elliminate shit from someone who knows a bit about recovering data if your just hiding stuff ffrom mum and dad just set your temporary internet files down to a really low number so it is contstanty flushed out and don't store history's

If your talking about your computer being taken away and "gone over " though then evidence eliminator is not gonna do anything data sits on your drive deleted or not untill that exact segmant of drive is overwriten the only way to properly protect yourself inthe way of deletion is buy using what is called a file shredder which means that is not only deletes the file bt it overwrites that segmant of disk with blank data a few times over too ( even after a couple of times over it can be recovered using incase or fred ) so use one that over writes at least 5 times or defrag your machine regularly ( it moves data around quite posibly over the segment you wish to hide )

a perfect example of this working the other way was when onetell went into liquidation one of the servers they auctioned off was partialy restored and personal financial details where taken

evidence eliminator includes a shredder, Its one of the best program out there for shredding, as far as I know.

But like ya said if someone wants data bad enough theres ways to do it still.

From what I remeber Evidence elliminator 's shredder writes over data 5 times and it does it with blank data instead of zeroing first that is ok but not 100% secure on it's own I have written shredders myself better than this so please do not make a comment like it's the best unless you have tried them all including the thousands of homebrews out there people use for themselfs. I don't mean to be a smart ass at all just presenting a new option for you to look into if it is one of your concerns

The reason I sugest not usig apps like Evidence eliminator is because it is only a script that does what it's told wether the files should be there or not . some people end up with serious probles using applications like this one and I would sugest a defrag after each use if you want to really ensure it's thurowness

yea, no program is the best.
I meant to say that its the best I have tried.

EE overwrites with as much as you wnat it too, you can over write once or many times with zeros or ones.

I only use EE because I got it free, and it seems to work so far.

What suggestions can you make for people like myself that dont know shit about doing it the manual way??
Pure
hold on a sec I forgot to say before hat EE doesn't use it's shedder during a sweep it only uses the shredder if you open the actual shredder application

I will have to give you a short answer now cause I have to get to work but if you need more than this just let me know and I will see it when I get home and reply :-P

the easiest way of finding out what to do is to first basicly do some basic reverse engeniering in your head .. no need to decompile or anything just look at the actuall applcation, what it's options and settings are what it is being told to search for and delete . then you bascly follow then instructions yourself and learn where it is these files from the internet and computer appear from cause it's not thin air laugh.gif

after that you can use the shredder of your choosing to remove them perminamntly or use a various other range of options like adding a Batch file to your login script so when you log in the contents of these directories get deletd ( don't do ths for ll o your directories just stuff like temp internet files ect which are nor goig to screw you around buy not having )

if you want to know a bit about this I can help allot more when I get home but I'm already late laugh.gif
