pipeman

Theo ther day I logged onto here from someone else's computer, and windows has recorded what I typed in terms of my username and password. I've sinced changed my password but the fact that I typed in "pipeman" as the name is still there. Now I deleted history, cookies and temporary internet files, but say this person sees that someone has visited www.ozstoners.com somehow, (from their ISP or something or maybe some other tracking software on their computer) they simply click the box on the log in page and see someone has typed in pipeman. Now if I'm the only other person to have used that computer they now know who pipeman is.
So, my question is, is there a way to delete windows memory as it applies to recording what you type in "log in" boxes? Same applies to the box in google. I've done some searches from work, now anyone that uses my computer can click on the search text box and see every search I've done.
Also I think it would be a good idea to default to windows NOT remembering passwords on the log in page.

Go to internet options, then click content, autocomplete is what you're looking for. I think. You can wipe out all the entries you've mentioned through this. Including passwords and other entries. At least I think you can....

All internet passwords are stored with a url specific cookie. Deleting this cookie also deletes the usename and password for that site.
Other windows passwords are stored in the *Computername*.pwl file.

thats not necessarily true. on another computer I use the "Delete all cookies" option on the main page of this site doesn't work, so I go in and manually delete the cookie, but if I come back to the site it still brings my username up in the sign in box.
the internet options as explained by Luke Skywalker is the only thing that gets rid of password/username autocomplete.

I got a sure fix..... IT involves a windows cd, a blow torch and a large hammer
Go with a free source os and you wont have all the problems there is to much in windows that is insecure for people like us......

deleting the password through internet options is pretty much the best way to delete the passwords...
I'd like to know why you think a free source os provides better security black_one? You might want to look up the stats of virus's and security alerts issued for all OS's - they are pretty much even with windows!!! Trouble is the windows problems are the one's you hear the most about because it has the larger installed user base!

Find a download, then use a program called Evidence Eliminator.
It will not only clean the internals of the cookies, but also delete them and shred(delete then write 0's and 1's into that position) until even a forensic lab can not retrieve the information anymore.
It's just the same as the old PGP disk write.
