Yeah, I've been using Pop-Up stopper for a while now, another thing you've got to watch for is spyware, some of the US sites are full of it, usually the ones that have pop-ups, the Gator pop-up gives you a spyware cookie when it pops up too.

I use Spybot to eliminate them and SpywareBlaster to immunise, the link to SpywareBlaster is in the immunise section of Spybot.

You don't need to turn Pop-Up stopper off for links, just hold the <ctrl> key down when you click the link.

You only get those from porn sites ele, (laugh.gif) ..and of them casino sites...I'm afraid the only way to avoid that is to guard your own surfin' habits. A friend of me still has some page his browser keeps starting up with, every link on that page is some pay-dial up number and whatever he tryes to get it out of his laptop(in this case) it still keeps popping up. Very nasty! He has been trying to get hold of some address to get to the people behind this, the dude is real pissed off about it, but he can't even find a company or anything that's responcable, They hide very good behind different netwerks of Thailand based "non-existing" companies. he really digged into it.
About them popup stoppers, this one I use also and it's the best, maybe the version that you pay for has the possibility to block those popups you mentioned but I'm not sure. One time, some years ago, I got a cdrom that came with a pc magazine and that contained a popup stopper called "popup Killer". <-- this had spyware! It blocked popups allright but was sending my surfin' behaviour to it's owners as well.

the google toolbar will block almost all popups, is handy for searching, less than .5 meg and integrates perfectly with ie.
