Hey guys,

I dont know if this is just me but I have been play guitar since I was little and I have always been into metal mostly thrash and always had a bit of trouble composing my own material but since I have been smoking up I have found it heaps easier to rip up a big solo off the top of my head . Does this happen for anyone else?

Im just as creative, but the holy herb helps relax me and unleash more of my creativity thats already there. Ive done some great artwork stoned and not stoned and its pretty much the same.

Most of the music from the 70's & 80's was chemically enhanced

I mix vinyl ... and I never ... ever ... get behind the dex without at least two smoked and two to go ... the ear is definately enhanced with a good smoke :thumbsup

Yeh metal rocks, there must be some link between music n drugs n all the good guitar players I know smoke up or do shrooms. Well looks like I answered my own question. Thanks guys.

yeh I love almost every band there :thumbsup. I into megadeth but some of dave's stuff got a bit commercial there (after rust in piece). I not so into deth metal more so speed/thrash. Iron maiden would have to be my alltime fav UP THE IRONS. This is kinda off topic so I will stop Keep up the good work wildflower

Actually, a lot of music from the entire 20th century was drug inspired in some way or other. Also don't forget that the cannabis culture had much more influence in some countries for far longer than our humble country

edit: Getting back to the topic, I really find that a toke can clear any creative blocks and unleash some serious inspiration to just about anything I put my mind to :thumbsup

...i went to a Nevermore gig and someone threw the drummer a J and he puffed it playing the set. awesome. and the vocalist had a cannibis leaf on his T-shirt.

Yeh after a session I am coming up with some pretty good shit, the only problem is I am either too lazy or physically unable to write down the music I come up with. Maybe I should invest in a audio recorder......and suggestions?

Hey, new to Perth. Muso and let down by a so-called friend on the dope side. I don't know anyone else here and I'm starting to go a bit nuts.

I've been a full time professional musician and even had radio play. Yes..... name a good rock artist and I'll hammer out some tunes on the guitar, (or most other instruments but guitar is my fav).

I find gettin smashed and jammin lets me focus a lot more and me timin is a tad better...ya focus that much that ya get to tha end of tha song, ya played it perfect but ya cant remember playin most of tha song...though everyone in tha place says we played it spot on...that spins me out

improvisation is a lot easier too...most 60's or 70's bands never play their songs tha same twice...ya get a different song every different concert ya watch...

Many types of jobs are definitely enhanced by cannabis use. Abstainers miss out on these benefits. Anything that requires imagination is assisted. It can also take the boredom out of mundane work. It's weird that society is so down on pot right now. In my view it is quite motivating. Music innovation seems to be a prime area for marijuana enhancement. :smoke

Great to see some Maiden and Megadeth fans!! My first year of uni was spent listening to Maiden, got into my first band. Ahhh the memories!
